Sadly I'm leaving WA

I saw this post today, and yes, it is sad. I checked her profile. She never filled out her profile. She shares no interests and doesn't share what her niche is. She has no contact information: no social media contacts and no website links.

How can we help when we know nothing about her?

As for me, I'm convinced IM is the best business model for most people. You can learn everything you need to know right here at WA.

For you, The first thing you need to do is fill out your profile. Let us now what your interests are and what niches you are working. Post a helpful blog here at least weekly. Help one other person at least daily. Look for ways you can build relationships with others and perhaps even find ways to work together on projects of mutual interest.

To get traffic to your webite you are going to have to post at least three times a week for the first six months. Once your site gains traction, you can back off. Jay's Football Helmet site took a lot of work to setup. Watching him build out that site has been an education far beyond his intial four week development training series. That site has become evergreen. It is providing him significant income and the major work is done.

Set up Google Analytics so you know how your site is doing. Keep a data base of all your posts so you can use Jaaxy to check the rankings of the keywords you have used. You will also need to set internal links so your database can help you do that. Create a site map. It will help you and it will help the search engines. Have a hidden page on you website to document changes you have made on your site.

There is no other place on the internet where you can host 50 websites for $49/month. That alone make WA worthwhile.

Don't leave WA because you are not making any money. Use WA to figure out why you are not making money and know what you have to change.

When you make a decision, base it on what you want to accomplish. Have a clear understanding of WHY you are making that decision. What is it you hope to accomplish. In life, it is not how we do things that count. What will make a real difference in our lives is who we associate with. Who are your mentors. Who do you want to get advice from.

My mentors here at WA are Loess, Boomer, Labman, Marion Black, Jay and so many more.
When I see their posts, I read them. I have even had PM conversations with a few of them.

You are here at WA because you want to learn to be the best IM you can be. The WA community is made up of people you want to associate with.

Know that becoming a successful IM will take work. The more content you put on your website the more successful that site will be. The only legitimate reason to leave WA is if you decide you do not want to do the work it will take to be successful. If you want to do something else - LEAVE.

If you want to be a successful IM, WA is the place to be. Find your mentors, do the work, and live the life of your dreams.

Great post!
Personally, I've been blown away by the value in under two weeks on WA. It's inspired me enough to FINALLY start getting up at 5am every morning (something I've been saying I'll do for a couple of years now), because I finally have something I'm excited enough about. I did not think I would find that here, but I have. The value in working through the training is enormous for so many avenues beyond the initial drawcard of affiliate marketing.
The platform and community far surpasses anything else out there, and every step of progress feels 10x more rewarding than it would through another training resource.

Yep, that person missed out on a heck of an opportunity!

When I started here I made the mistake of jumping through the training and skipping around to learn what I needed to know at the moment. At the time I was leading an international group of web designers developing a website for an international convention of environmentalists being held here in Hawaii. I had to answer their questions when they got stuck and WA was where I got my answers. It did cause me to jump around a lot and I think it significantly slowed my progress as an IM. I'm now going back through the training and taking it step by step.

Do you know how important it is to be able to get a good answer to a problem in 15 minutes instead of waiting a couple of days for a tech support company to respond?

That seems like a good as process as any really! It certainly would have crystallized how many learning opportunities are here and what a wealth of resources are offered up. And I guess you got what you needed out of it at the time, as well as obviously seeing enough to come back to it all.

Absolutely! SUPER impressed with the tech support on here. My background's in digital design. I've worked at major web design agencies, as well as freelance, and have experienced sooooo many stressful late nights and tearful afternoons trying to get answers for problems. Obviously won't be happening here!

As an aside... I'm planning on studying Environmental Science next year, so will definitely be keeping an eye on your content!

You will face so many challenges that are hard for me to even imagine. Within your career you will be facing tipping point issues that will determine the future of humanity.

Stay in touch. I have websites dedicated to the environment, to being resilient in the face of change and how to have a partime business that provides you the income you need to do the important things in your life.

Build a profitable business that will pay for your education and more.

I am so sorry to say that I will be quitting as well. I just don't think I can be on the internet posting like it require you to. So I rather let it alone. If I can't give my all I leave it alone. But thank you for the opportunity.

I've learned that I get more done with a consistent half hour every day than with an all out push. I don't have time to give it my all. When you make a decision to do something you are also making a decision to not do something else.

My most important goal is to increase my families income. I've had to cut back on community service and other activities to have time for IM. We each have to make choices. Just make sure that you know what is most important to you and make time for it every day.

Hello, can someone please tell me why I cant see my post in Word like regular even when it is posted. Because honestly, I cannot make the changes in site content like I can in Wordpress

Also, do we have to post our post for it to show up in wordpress. I am going crazy here.

example: when writing a post in Site content I am limited to what I can do such as change size etc

Just like you there are things I like about Site Content and things that drive me up the wall. I like the free pictures and and the grammar/spelling/punctuation checker. I don't like when it refuses to post. I end up copying what i was working on and pasting the copy where it was needed.
I'v pretty much given up on Site Content for blogging in WA. If I blog directly in WA I have the same capabilities in the editor and no hassle.
I/ve lost to much copy in Site Content. I usually write my longer articles using an rtf word processor like textedit and then cut and pasting into WordPress.

Some people want to go to heaven, yet they don't understand that there is work that needs to be done to get there.

Your title gave me a chill, I thought for a moment, is it Aprils Fool Day again? I know time flies, but not that quick. Thanks for mentioning me in your blog, very nice written too:)

You are the best so far as I am concerned. Learn so much from following you blogs.

Thanks bill that was awesome advice!

You have a great list of mentors, Bill!

I apologize for the many who I left out.

Great advice Bill, you can learn a lot just by reading others blogs.
Blessings,Scarlett and Elaine

Now that was a bait heading that I'm glad caught me out :-)

I agree with you about not leaving WA because you're not making money. I could have left after a year of not making a regular income however, I knew it was because I hadn't put in the effort required.

Having a mentor and being accountable to someone really does help. That was the missing link for me. Now there's an unbroken chain, I'm working towards living the life of my dreams!

Thanks for posting Bill.

We can do it together. To many people don't have dreams.

Well said! It is sad when we have members join and never leave a profile for us to communicate with. Some do return later though. I don’t understand why anyone would not at the very least get the free training.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
