Failures are potholes on the road to success. Learn from your failures. Check often and make corrections early before they become too expensive.

There are three kinds of failure. Only one realy matters. Your concept is knowing what is most important in your life. The most important thing may change as you grow. When you accomplish the one most important thing you have been working on, celebrate your success and then pick a new most important thing that will advance your calling

Failure of Process

Everyone has seen the Lucile Ball in the Candy Factory skit.

That is a failure of process.


Failure of Strategy

A failure of strategy would be building that assembly line in the first place.

Failure of Concept

A failure of concept would be if no one liked the candy.

Elon Musk wants to collonize Mars. In my opinion that is a failing
concept. No matter how bad we make things here on earth, the earth will
always be vastly more hospitable than Mars.

Fail often and early
If you can catch a failure in the process early, the process can be tweaked and the project can continue. It is important to check process development frequently and make corrections as necessary.

A winning strategy is vital to the success of any project. Here at WA many of us are determined to create a business teaching new want-to-be entrepreneurs how to be affiliate marketers. If your website doesn't draw traffic you have to tweak your process. Or consider that your niche isn't drawing an audience. That is a failure in strategy. You may need to find a more profitable niche.

If you are going to write a book. Go to Amazon and see what topics are popular. If no one is buying books in the niche you plan to write about it could mean one of two things:

  1. No one is interested in your topic.
  2. Your topic is vitally important and no one has thought to right about your subject.

If you want to write a popular book write about something people are interested in. If you want to write about that important topic you may have a winner or you may have a bomb.

Conclusion

Evaluate the concept. Ask questions. Ask people if they are interested in your topic. Share you book with a 100 people ask them what the found interesting and what bored them.

Make sure your concept is sound. Then go forward testing your strategy and the process. In the process find out what people find confusing, boring or incomplete. In evaluating strategy you may want to consider who you are asking for help.

Don't be afraid of failure. Test early and frequently. Fail early in your project before making a change becomes to expensive. Test the concept before starting the project. Make sure you Know where you are going before you leave port. Then adjust your course as needed to avoid the hurricanes. Sometimes we must quit a project. What we are doing is just not panning out and there is nothing we can do about it. That is why testing your concept at the beginning is so important. It is hard to quit a project when you have a million dollars invested in it.

The only real failure is to quit trying. Successful people know when to quit. Then they dust themselvees off and start their next project. Quiters, on the other hand, don't try. We have a great example here at WA. Some of our leaders invite thousands of people to join WA every month. Most of us have not yet developed the strategy that will make us successful, but we keep learning and keep tweaking our system. Some look at internet marketing and decide it won't work for them. Some will go on to the next shiny project and some will just stick with their job.

I'm convinved internet marketing is a sound business model. I know I want a business that allows me to develop my business while working at my own schedule. I want to be able to scale up without having an income cap. I want to work from anywhere. I need a business I can start at minimal cost and minimum monthly overhead. I don't want to have to deal with employees or inventory. The only business model I have found that meets those qualification is being a sales rep for companies whose products I like and leveraging the internet to make sales.

WA has taught me how to be successful.

I have the concept, internet marketing.

I have the strategy,

  • Build a website,
  • Fill the website with quality content
  • Hold and record weekly webinars
  • Find affiliates I can work with
  • Create an optin list of followers.
  • Use social media to promote my website.

I have my process and these are habits I must not break:

  • I'll go on tweaking my strategy as I learn more from all of you.
  • I have the process
  • I will study my craft at least half an hour every day.
  • I will work to implement my strategy at least an hour every day.
  • I will work to strengthen my relationships with my friends and with new people I meet touching the lives of at least 3 people every day.
  • I will network in my community to let people know what I am doing and how I can help them.

I am in this for life. I will only fail if I die before I have established a legacy that will take care of my daughter in her old age. Oh, I expect little failures, but I will learn from them, make adjustments and keep working.
