To become an authority site you only need a few hundred subscribers to you website opt in list. That requires you have a website and a subscriber list with tripwires scatter through your site. The best way to draw traffic to you site is to post content that helps both your visitors and the search engines. The more you write, the more traffic you will attract.

Be sure to hold webinars on various niche topics. Use you mailing list to invite people to your webinar. Webinars are important because the let your audience get to know you as an individual. The more the see you as a helpful, likable person the better your brand.

Document everything you do in your business. Develop a written business model that will help anyone duplicate your business. Record the questions your audience asks and which posts are the most popular. Look for patterns. With enough questions you will never run out of things to write about.

Let people know about your successes. Tell case histories and back them up with testimonials from the people you helped. When you write about your successful projects, it is probably the best way to advertise.

Don't forget to tell people Why you do what you do. The more they know about how you work and why you work that way the strong your brand. Don't forget your local market. Network with local groups. Arrange to speak to any group that will have you. Networking worked 50 years ago and it is still a strong way to build your local reputation

Website size or traffic doesn't matter. Of course if you are a great teacher like Jay and are talking to hundreds of people that is great. I use Zoom.us because it is free for 30 minutes, No software to install and nothing to configure.

I often will do a one on one with a single client to help them solve a problem. Even more often I will schedule a session and have a half dozen people show up. I haven't built a large enough mailing list to really get a large following. That is ok. I belong to a small mastermind group. We meet twice a month using zoom.

Another very convenient way to collaborate with small groups is to set up a secret facebook page where only people who are invited can participate.

If enough people are interested, I will blog about using FB to build relationships.
