I help people create resilience in their lives. What is resilience? It is your ability to take control of your life. Fate is what happens in our lives that we have no control over. Resilience is how we respond to the chaotic events in our lives.
I was talking with a friend. She had just lost her Job. She had worked for the company for 10 years. The company called an emergency meeting of all employees. At the meeting, everyone was told the company was going out of business and everyone was fired. They would get a severance pay of $300.
That's Fate. In this gig economy, no one has job security. Companies merge, downsize or the project you were hired to work on is finished. What ever the reason, you will be looking for another gig.
I don't know the source of the statistic, but the forecast is 57% of all workers in the USA will be freelancing by 2027.
I believe the only security is a business of my own that provides me passive income from multiples sources. I'm also convinced internet marketing is the most practical way for the average person to create their own business.
If my friend had created a side gig that was ready to scale up, losing her job might have been an opportunity rather than a financial crisis,
We all know people who are horrified by the idea of being an entrepreneur. They only want a job. I tell them they have to manage their careers like a business. Their ability to compete in the job market depends on who knows them (strong relationships), What they have accomplished in the last five years and what skills they have. Knowing how to manage a website will put you head and shoulders above your competition.
It takes time to create an Internet Marketing business. That is why it is important to create your side gig while you are working. When your business is ready to scale up, you will be able to create an adequate inome before your unemployment runs out.
Currently, I make most of my income creating and promoting websites for local businesses. Promoting local business doesn't necessarly mean a website, but it does require that a cell phone user can find you on Googloe my Business, Yelp and other important directories.
Your business must be ready to scale up.
Before I will take a gig, I insist that the organization appoint someone as webmaster who I can train to manage and promote their website. My reasoning is that if they don't understand what is involved they won't be able to outsource their work effectively.
I insist the people I work with join WA. Even if they don't choose to become a premium member, the free first lesson will teach them what they need to know about creating and managing a website. I also use WA to document my training. Even free members can use the posts and training prepared by any WA member.
By having my client join WA, I can refer them to the wealth of WA member's posts and training without having to reinvent the wheel. If I cannot find the answer in WA, I can provide the answer in my WA training and it will be available to answer my next client's question.

Replacing the income ofLost job won’t be easy or quick but following WA training and getting started is the best but particularly are looking for another position.
My daughter was laid off due to COVID-19. The first thing she did was sit down and start writing. She has published two books on Kindle. Now we are promoting them. If all that had been in place when she was laid off we would be 3 months ahead.
What I'm trying to emphasize is the importance of having all the business fundamentals in place before you need them. As you point out, it takes time to build out your niche and build your platform. If you have 1000 followers who know who you are and like what you do how long do you think it will take to get a new gig?
COVID-19 is making it tough. 4 million people out of work. Millions of small businesses barely hanging on. Internet Marketing is the only game in town. My business is actually up because so many other businesses are desperate to incorporate remote workflows into their businesses

You are absolutely right, jobs have to be managed like a business one never knows when a business that you are working for may go out of business leaving you high and dry if you haven't prepared for it. Internet marketing is definitely a key to success, and here at WA is one of the best platforms I have yet to find to gather information on how to master that skill ... to a better future ... up wards and on wards is the key of the day ... thank you for the post ... cheers ...
