Are you using BES?
Do you know BES?
B.E.S. is :
1. BUILD YOUR AUDIENCE
2. ENGAGE YOUR AUDIENCE
3. SELL YOUR AUDIENCE
BUILD your audience.
How do you do that? WA a recommends we fill our website with high quality, helpful content. Do it by blogging. Jay (Majistudios) recommends posting fresh content at least three times a week. His seven point SEO checklist includes sharing your post with social media. Jay recommends posting to G+. Video is also important and Jay recommends YouTube. Google owns both G+ and YouTube and Jay thinks you get a little extra boost when you post on those platforms.
ENGAGE your audience.
One thing WA doesn't do until late in the training is emphasize the importance of builing your opt-in list. Do that by starting a conversation with your social media friends. Build you list by setting trip wires throughout your posts. Have a call to action in every post you make. Offer something of value as an incentive. If you are not growing your contact list, you are not growing your business.
People must know, like and trust you before they will do business with you. Don't try to sell until you have a solid relationship with your audience.
SELL your audience.
Don't put a sales pitch in every post. Think about how you process your junk mail. If you know they are selling you something it goes straight into the trash. The key to everything you do is helpful content. A good rule of thumb is 1 sales pitch in every 5th post. Even better make your pitch an info-mercial. Tell the story of why your audience needs what you are recommending.
Conclusion
That's it. If you want to advance your career, you need to brand yourself. If you want to win an election, you need a lot of friends you can call on for support. If you want to create a business, you need a lot of friends you can sell to.
If you can solve enough problems you will do well.
