On a few of my sites, I keep losing verification that I own the website in my Google search console. I have to go back and add the code to my site so Google will verify, again.

Hi BigMook. I've been experiencing something similar. Started on June 16th. That's the best I can tie it to. I'm using Yoast as well and had a ton of trouble making a few design changes on my site. Ever since then, GA is tracking my traffic. I have the code in Yoast and the header.php in a child theme. Still no luck. Don't know what's going on. Hope you get your problem sorted! Alanna

Did you add them into the head? Then it will be overwritten with every WP update.
You better verify them in the SEO all in one

Thanks, Loes. I think its because I use Yoast on those sites.

I don't know much about Yoast, I am not using that, Paul Goodwin is my Yoast expert, he might know what you are doing wrong

Here's the video for the Yoast SEO plugin.

Thanks, Marion... I appreciate this! :)

How are you doing the verification?

If you manually add it into the theme header.php then it will be deleted at every theme update.

You can use a plugin to avoid this, either AIl-in-One SEO which you've probably got installed, or Header Footer which allows you to force inject content into various areas of your website.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/header-footer/

Thanks. That helps. On the sites that lose verification, I'm using Yoast, not All-in-one. That must be it. Thanks again Rich.

Just a heads up, I changed back from Yoast (premium) to All-in-One SEO (free) at the catastrophic 3.0 update, as have some other members and we are now seeing much better ranking results. I saw a lot of my page 2 and page 3 listings go to page 1. I've also found SEO Framework https://wordpress.org/plugins/autodescription/ gets better ranking results than even AIOSEO but it's less user-friendly at the moment. Yoast is actually the worst plugin in regards to ranking, most members like it because of the interactive feedback on content, but there are much better tools to help with that, for example WebTextTool. If you want to take a look at that, there is a free version, but they hide the signup gateway, it's at https://app.webtexttool.com/#/register-free ;)

Thanks for the heads up! I'll take a look at these. Much appreciated!

You're most welcome! :)

Anyone else in Bootcamp having this problem. I noticed today that my stats for Bootcamp referrals/sales has paused on March 13th. No stats for yesterday or today.

Hi, mine seems to be alright! I agree with Katie if it continues, let support know...
Thank you for your question.

Linda

mine seem ok if it continues perhaps you need to let support know

Mine are working fine!
Ed

Thanks, Ed! I'll give it another day. Maybe it's lagging behind. Although not sure why mine would lag and not yours. I'll shoot Kyle an email if it doesn't clear up soon. Thanks again for your response.
- Stephen

I know it's working because I got a referral this morning...
Ed

I got a referral today as well.... he's in my 'Referrals' area, but the stats stopped at the 13th. So I can't see how many clicks or referrals joined since the 13th, without actually going into the 'Referrals' link.

99% of the time you cannot do anything about this "suggestion" by Google Page Speed insights. Your site needs certain files to load before the content can load, and this is what they are referring to. You can try a few plugins but be careful because plugins that start messing with how your site loads the required files can really mess things up.

Let us know if you find a plugin that works well for this, but proceed with caution by doing some research on the plugin first.

Carson

Hey Carson, I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to help with my dilemma. I'll be sure to give this all consideration.
Best,
Stephen

Hi BigMook. I ran a speed test on my site recently and received the same message. If you know that your site doesn't have a loading problem, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's easy to get caught up in stats like this. I know my site doesn't have a loading problem so I'm not going to spend precious time trying to get that message sorted. I agree with Carson. I'd be careful about this one. Alanna

Excellent advice Alanna. I appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback :)

Hi I see Carson has given you some good suggestions and be sure to let us know how this works out as I would like to know too.
I wish you the best,
Linda

Thank you Nerses, I'll give this a look :)

It means the page wont load until those scripts or css are dowloaded.

There's this plugin that can make the site loading better. It optimizes the delivery of scripts and CSS, as Google Insights suggest.

Thank you! I'll be sure to look into this
Best,

Here's a complete solution for site speed maintenance.

Thanks Pio, I'll be sure to give this a look

This might be able to help you

Thanks Katie! I'll be sure to check this out :)

Ha! I'm afraid I'm as lost as you my friend although I'm sure someone will be able to shed some light for you....

Someone on YouTube has one of my videos up on their YouTube Channel.

1. Is this legal?
2. Is there anything I can do about it?

Google takes this very seriously. Lodge a complaint with YouTube and the other person may even lose their channel.

That _ucks Stephen!
I would do what Pj said - contact Youtube.
Very unethical.
Was it a WA member? ... if so, they need to be talked to

Did a bit a searching to see if I could find out who it is. Not sure if it's a WA'er. I was thinking the same thought....

I've sent my complaint to YouTuble. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

and maybe while you waiting youtube to put the thief down leave a honest disappointed comment on his page, so his "followers" can know with they are dealing with.
Good luck!

Oh yeah, that was the first thing I did :)

Stealing somebody's work is very bad and there should be ways to prevent it.

Wish I could offer help, but all I can say is, that stinks!

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Baaaad...

That is ridiculous to hear, and they are ranking higher, weird indeed.

Seriously? This is beyond ridiculous! I hope that YouTube takes it down! So sorry this happened to you!

Seriously! I did an incognito search for the keyword in quotes to see what came up. And HIS video was one spot ahead of mine! I mean really?! It's my stinkin' video. How is his ranking higher?

Anyway, it's my best video. I get WA referrals from it pretty much on a daily basis. It's the only video of mine that works that well, so you can imagine how unhappy I am. He could potentially be stealing traffic from me, with my own video.

Ugh.

I think if I had a WA video and a WA guy stole it, I would be talking to him right here. I wonder what Kyle would have to say?

I have had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago! If you contact youtube they will take the video down, or they certainly did with me!

Thank you Roy. Appreciate your input!

Typically, no it is not legal. You can file a complaint with YouTube and they will force the user to take it down.

Thank PJ. You da man.
