Passion, Passion and, well, More Passion
Passion is back on my mind today.
Here is why.....
Years go I was an administrator for a fairly large public sewer department. We had 150 big pumping stations and 350 smaller ones. I had a 27 person squad that kept things flowing. The crews did such a great job that I had nothing much to do.
So, I dreamed up crazy ideas.
At one point I need to cover a large 6' chain link fence. I could have woven plastic bands on it, or put up an additional privacy fence.
But I had recently become fascinated with passion fruit for many reasons. So I bought one (ONE) and dried the seeds. I dug a small furrow inside the perimeter of the fence and planted the seeds.
Within 4 months, the vines covered the whole fence and began to bloom. I was elated until........
One day I drove up and the fence had collapsed. Yup. Here's why.
The vines grew so prolifically that the weight of them was stronger than a 6' chain fence with posts set in concrete. They slowly and steadfastly wore down the resistance of the fence. The fence just had to give in and give in it did!
The power of being steadfast. Steadfast trumps short bursts of energy every time and requires so little energy.
Being steadfast means considering yourself immovable!
Passion makes one steadfast. Sometimes all you need to do is hold your ground and let things in opposition to you just burn themselves out. Worked well for a little guy that once slew a giant, I hear.
Sometimes all you need to do is be the last one standing!
Just saying

Wow, that one piece of passion fruit must have had some prolific seeds. Ha-ha. Chain link usually can holdup quite a load. Oh well, so goes the best of ideas. Bet you caught a lot of trash talk from your maintenance guys. Great post Fred.
Nice saying BDF. We shall not be moved. No circumstances or situation is moving me away from Wealthy Affiliate and my quest for success. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for a great post Fred. This reminds me to keep going when things are tough and websites/posts aren't performing as desired. Love passionfruit but the vine can be troublesome.
You did it again Fred, bringing good reasons for any existence! Replace Passion as Faith and we'll be the giant killer.
Thanks for this post dear, you've given me reason to exist (in the WA anyway). God bless you.......
