When your mishaps are NOT YOUR FAULT

We've all been there, let me share a few examples......You may be in a rush, but the person in front of you on the road has molasses in their trunk!! What do you do? Turn around and go home? Beep your horn incessantly until they get the picture? Drive beside them and scream obscenities at them? Hit their bumper with your bumper? We've all been at points in our lives where we need to hurry up to do something and someone or something is preventing us from moving forward...or at least at the speed we intended. There will be many things throughout our journey that will hinder us, slow us down, even anger us, but what mustn't we do? Give up!! NEVER give up trying to live your dreams because others may not see what you are made of...it's up to you to PROVE it. I think back on the many "associates" of mine who tried to discourage me from going back to get my degrees..."girl, aren't you too old to be trying to learn?" Since when is that EVER the truth? None of us are too old, too poor, or too anything to get on the right track and become successful. How we react to these situations that cross our paths and test our strength will determine how successful we become.

I am a huge believer in eliminating those from my circle who never have an encouraging or positive thing to say, those who purposely put others down, and those who seem to (even after decades of not being around them) have NO GOALS. It is so important to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can support you, come to your aid when necessary, and are there to encourage your success. Think of all of our greats who don't really need mentions, but because of their efforts, are constantly discussed....Wilbur and Orville Wright. Now where would we be without the Wright brothers, Benjamin Franklin who we can attribute many contributions from his creativity. Alexander Graham Bell; boy would he be surprised at how far phones have advanced since his invention. None of us know whether or not our business venture will be the next best thing, nor if we're setting ourselves up to be millionaires. Do what you do because it is your passion. Many may be employed, holding positions you hate to get to where you want to be in your life. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. It is obvious that you get nothing out of this life until you've sweated a little and maybe even drew blood too. Bumps and bruises on the way up are to be expected. So, back to the vehicle...Have you decided yet what to do? My suggestion would be to pass them, or to just change lanes, but there is still no guarantee that there won't be other things, or people that attempt to divert your focus, there will be many along your journey. Let nothing steal your passion, your passion is the key to your success.

You may have arranged a sitter so you could attend an important meeting, but the sitter either cancels or just doesn't bother to show up. You could have car trouble, you may have woke up with a cold or flu bug, you could plan a garden party just to have it rain. I could go on and on about the mishaps and 'oh-no's' that happen in life daily, but it would not change the fact that we all have a destiny and a place to fit in this world, and nothing should become more important than fulfilling that purpose. We see many who are confused or just haven't figured out his-her life's purpose yet and that is hard. It's HARD having a passion or being extremely passionate about something, and surrounding yourself with those with no passion...it's draining.

I believe we live in a generation where REAL millionaires are being created. WHY? not only because we have the internet, but because the majority actually had to EARN a place, not like many who are considered "old money" because they were given inheritances or property. Most of us have had to struggle just to keep the things we have, so we already KNOW what hard work IS...most have just NEVER seen what the fruits of their labor really bring forth, until ownership of a thing, a business occurs.

I say all of that to say this....NEVER give up on your dreams, LISTEN to your passion and ACT on it, ENCOURAGE yourself and others with positive talk, and be the BEST at whatever it is you choose to do with your business endeavors.

Hi Audra - I came across this post this morning and just had to comment on it. What you say are my sentiments too. I try to surround myself with positive people and leave the negative ones to deal with life their way :)

We have to, Valerie! I like to forgive and move on...If you like to hold a grudge can you hold it...over there? lol ;)

Wow, a lot of us are on the same page today! My post today is also about ridding yourself of negative people :)

If we all really thought about it, the negative talk is the worst. Especially when it comes from those you believed to already care about you. I truly believe there are people in this world that just don't want to see others happy if THEY aren't. I always rejoice in others successes, if nothing else it means "it was possible". That is why I have fallen in love with this community, we all NEED and DESERVE encouragement.

We certainly do!
