Comment Exchange

I have to say I am no longer "feeling" the comment exchange! If people cannot make sound, thought out comments WITHOUT trying to criticize on the website, then please skip over mine.

We are all trying to run businesses here and the comment section is not for people to leave criticisms on a persons website comments! The critiques should be made back on the WA platform...is this not common sense?

If you are commenting like a regular visitor, why would my theme or the colors on my page be stated in your comment? I don't know about the rest of you, but I can spot a "staged" comment, because it will be something not fitting the situation.

A few moments ago I had to DELETE a comment...I will not allow those types of comments through moderation! If I want my site to be tie dyed...it will BE! Besides that, I am still making changes everyday, but the backgrounds seem too dark to read what I've written. I'm sure it looks like "Punky Brewster" lives there, but oh, well...work-in-progress! If I sound snarky it's because "they" took me there. I don't need comments so bad that I'll risk my reputation for them...no thanks!

That is all....

Well, I like you website. It is packed with valuable information for newbies like me. Thank you very much for sharing. And, sorry you had a problem with somebodies criticism.

Hi, Janice. Thank You! It wasn't bad...it just didn't belong in my site comments, but now I know it benefits me to 'reject' the comment instead of just deleting it. :)

Good point. But in defense of the newbies, when I first started I thought giving comments meant giving positive feedback, as in to improve the website, not as a visitor. I made a few whopper comments that were probably deleted. Just sayin'.

Good point :)

Hi Audra, like some others say, that's not a site comment. That's a site feedback. A lot of new WA members still don't understand the difference between these two functions. So you MUST disapprove it if you receive a "feedback" instead.

When you visit a professional website, say newspaper site or celebrity's gossip site, you never leave a comment about the site structure. You leave a comment about the subject itself.

I've had to disapprove a lot of "feedback" received from confused members. If you disapprove one, you'll receive another comment a few minutes later for free.

Thanks, Ray. I didn't know that! It seems like a 'common sense' issue to me...why would I want criticisms ON my website? lol

would you like some comments that help? I'm pretty good with them.

Hi, Catlady. I sure would appreciate it! And would be happy to return the favor. I have a few posts that have no comments.
http://pccurrency.com Thank You in advance! :)

I put a comment on the web evaluaters job, but I'm not sure it went through. You might want to check. I'll do a couple others

I hit two of the pages, hope it helps.

Thank You, Liz. Yes, it helped! :)

I'm glad!!!

You should leave me your link so I can comment for you, Liz. Glad to return the favor! :)

Gotcha! :)

thank you so much.

When I am looking at giving comments, I click not interested when I see a site that I don't care about. I also try to add something to the content or ask a question.

Me too, Joy. Though there are times when I have to skip commenting because it is not a subject of interest. And I am good at asking questions..lol I just don't see why people are making this more difficult than it is!

Ah, know the feeling. I used to get frustrated when it was a comment on my content I wanted and not damn feedback!! There's an entire god damn section for that lol.

Lol..I think some just have a hard time understanding and following directions. Feedback dosen't mean comment, nor does it mean comment the feedback! Lotta confused folks..lol

Yes :)

I always post comments related to the post. I did receive few that looked like feedback. I rejected them and explained that I requested comments not feedback. Having said that, sometimes I land on a website which topic is so far from my interest, it is impossible to write a comment for me. I just move on to next site but I think some people still try to earn points and comment on topics they have no opinion about, hence comments that do not look natural.

I just think it should be common sense not to criticize on the website! Why would that make sense? We talk about everything here at WA so let's talk on the WA platform...I just don't get it. lol
When you ask for feedback, it should still be made on the WA platform, and not your website.

I agree. I just think that some people confuse feedback with comments. Maybe new members? I don't know.

i TOTALLY agree. well said. and a work in progress IS ... a work in progress.
hang on in there - and go check out my website.
its still a work in progress, but i'd like to hear your thoughts on it.
ps. how/where do you get the cartoon/character profile pictures?

I always use Google! You have to search for licensing info..most are free to share..

Well said Audra!
