I had a similar question but I think I'm getting the gist of it. There are some great answers here. Thanks for posting this, Berny!

You have to think of different situations the keyword can fit in. For example, if you use "red table cloths", then

How to clean red tablecloths
Where to buy red table cloths in bulk
Decorations that match red table cloths
Do red table cloths look tacky
Best flatware to match red and white tablecloths

etc etc

Some good answers for you here and also for me

Lol I do but do not forget I am in Scotland so there is the time difference if your in the USA or anywhere outside my time zone

Thank you, I could use that suggestion within the niche, albeit not table cloths LOL. However, I too thought afterwards that could be another niche all on its own. Many thanks. Gotta go to sleep soon, but my mind is spinning.

HI Berny, hope you're fine. i"m kinda leaning towards Mark's reply to you. You can add more interesting topics about table cloths - seasonal ones - X-mas, Thanksgiving, Birthdays designs, contemporary, classic, etc. Then you can branch out to other things that are somehow related to tablecloths - centerpieces, vase, fruit bowls, candelabra, or anything that can enhance a dining table, or your tablecloths. THis will lead you to other things interesting, you know what I mean. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jen but unfortunately this niche is pretty specific and would not have celebration types such as Xmas etc. Thank you for your reply. You did give me some good ideas though, should I want to do a niche on table cloths.

Write a blog or two about things that interest you or could be interesting from table cloths. Then build a social media community of people interested in table cloths. Who makes their own? What kinds can you find all around the world? Ask questions to get feedback, the beauty of the Internet is that no matter what you post and create someone will give you feedback. Lol, I forgot to tell you that I an using table cloths as a example. Now I guarantee someone is going to be interested in that market. I have a bunch of great ideas to.

Thanks for your speedy reply Mark. Much appreciated as always.

Product has no variations unfortunately and is definitely not a collectible item, it is consumable which is good in one way.

Some of the keywords are questions that I could answer, so I will keep that in mind when I start the Getting Started training on the weekend using this niche. You have helped me to start thinking along a certain line - thank you.

Cheers
Berny

Hi do not know if it is of help when there are many good keywords I kind of try and build around the best ones and see if I can come up with a natural type of content, also read what others have written it will give you and idea of how to put it together in your own way

Thanks Katie - I will look at some other sites before the weekend - I don't have much time until then unfortunately. I feel like staying up all night, but I'd better not. Do you ever sleep by the way?

Hi Berny.

Sounds like you have the basis (lots of keywords) to build a great site.

As those 100's of keywords are all on the same subject, then you could write posts addressing/answering each of them. You would quickly build out your site if you were to do that.

If your product is "one product" (ie. no variations), then you could have one main review page, that gives your view on the product - and have your posts on the various questions people are looking for answers to about the product, link to it.

If there are lots of product variations, then you could write posts reviewing them, and letting people know what you think - why do you prefer one over the other etc?

To take your example - I think you can really dive into table cloths - so what makes them collectible? Focus on a really targeted part of that niche - eg. humorous ones, ones made in a particular geography, or between a certain time period etc.

I hope this helps?

All the best, Mark

If you have a site where recipes could be included - is the recipe seen as duplicate content because chances are it can be found somewhere else on the internet? Cheers - Berny

Excellent question, Berny.
If I am looking at recipes, look at the ingredients compared with what I have in my healthy pantry stock. Since my site is focused on healthy home made, just like Grandma taught me, my recipes are original in content because I do not copy verbatim nor do I prepare or perform the instructions the same.

Through the years I have collected recipes. We all have a shelf or more of cookbooks. My site still will only have what I have prepared according to the way I have been taught with the addition of my cooking chemistry knowledge learned over the years. I guess you might say, my tried and true and repeated ones over time or from generation to generation.

My plugin - WPultimate recipe allows me to make the recipe my own.
Am trying out my creation of mind-map recipes for mobile too, quite different than the standard recipe format.

I have seen on many sites the addition of words stating the recipe was made with adjustments from another cooking site, the name being credited.

I think in anything we do on our sites our content must be our own and where we obtain information or an image or other media or an actual recipe verbatim should be credited, making our sites more valuable.

I think we all have variations of access to certain ingredients, where I include the actual brand name link in addition to the generic named item: like Gold Medal Organic All Purpose Flour Pre-sifted, below the recipe and in the shopping list.

Hope this wasn't too much. Hope I have helped answer the question. ^_~Lynn

Cooking is about being creative, unique. I think almost everyone of us is capable of creating origiinal recipies, because one or two ingredients and your particular way of cooking are going to make a big difference between one dish an another.

I have some recipes on my website. The ingredients didn't show up as duplicate content, but the preparations part did I just changed the wording around a little and it was okay.

By adding the recipes your adding content to your site if you not trying to rank for recipes then that's great. Change the recipes up a bit to make them your own by doing this your adding content to your niche site. More content will help boost your site rankings within Google.

Great points Dave - thank you very much. Cheers - Berny

I'm just taking a wild guess here Berny, but I don't possibly see where if your website was mainly about dinnerware and glassware that a few recipes thrown in would show up as duplicate content, especially if like the others have commented before me that you personalize the content to yourself.

There are plenty of recipe sites out there in cyberspace and some of them naturally are going to be ranked at the top, right? So I would guess it would not affect your site's ranking according to Google's spiderbots! Again, just a guess on my part!

Jack :)

Great points Jack - thank you very much. Cheers - Berny

You can make a recipe your own by being creative. Substituting ingredients and varying measurements can make a lot of difference. More importantly, who is your target audience? What ingredients are available in their parts of the world and what are their preferences?

When I use recipes, I make substitutions all the time, because it's either I don't find the suggested ingredients or they are too expensive.

That's a great suggestion Ade. It's a good way to personalize it because you can explain your modifications to a traditional recipe and why. It makes it more interesting too. Like, "cooking with Berny", instead of getting a recipe off of Ask.com.....

I cook a lot and I improvise with unconventional ingredients. Maybe that's why I find it difficult to teach anyone how to cook. Cooking doesn't have to be a certain way. I make it my own and it usually turns our great.

On second thought why don't you check it
www.healthymediterraneanfood.com, it could help you

I have a website where recipes are a fundamental psrt. When I give one of my recipes I try to introduce comments on on the reperibility of the ingredients, the nutritional values, my experience with it. This makes it different from others.

It shouldn't matter too much, as long as the majority of your content is unique. A recipe may contain a few lines of *similar* content, but the instructions of how to make it will be completely different.

Each piece of content should be 400-500 words minimum, and I can't see the ingredients list being more than 50 words or so. If it is, that means there's a lot of ingredients, which also means you should have a lot of content to back it up explaining how to use them!

If your content isn't enough to balance out the recipe, there's little chance of ranking anyway, so the question of duplicity isn't so important.

*This is my guess - I don't have any proof or examples.

Thanks Nathaniell. I'm working on a new niche and I am trying to find my passion. I love wine and wineglasses and dinnerware, and I thought I could add recipes in to be helpful. So just to clarify - if the recipe is short it won't rank, but I could rank with the glassware/dinnerware couldn't I, the recipe section would just be helpful to some?

I just mean if it's

1 cup flour
2 eggs
4 spoons sugar

Then you need to follow up with some instructions. People won't know what to do with that info. So you can then write how to bake a cake, include pictures of the item (if possible), potential issues, ways to tweak the recipe, substitutes, pairings, side dishes, etc.

There's a lot of info that you can add to help the reader and make a better post than just the ingredients.

If you are finding the recipe somewhere else you need to add your own flare to make it your own.

Hi Nathaniell - I could rank without the recipes couldn't I by featuring dinnerware and glassware. My problem is you can only say so much about it, are these suitable products for blogging? I'm a bit confused.

I think there's a lot to say about a recipe. If you are just listing info for convenience to you reader, then I wouldn't worry about ranking, and just write what you want.

But then you have to think about, what's the topic of your blog? Is it recipes of some kind? Then you absolutely need to write something unique, otherwise you are just an encyclopedia!

If your topic is not recipes, but you include recipes for fun, then you don't need to worry about them ranking. For example, if your topic is dinnerware, then the recipes are just an addition.

I think the google bot crawly spider thingys will figure that out ok : )

Hi

Someone sent me an email and I opened it and now this "binary pilot" keeps opening up every time I open Firefox. Does anyone have any ideas how to remove it please?

Do you know how to follow Nathaniells instructions Bernie? Pm me if you need help.

Thanks Trialynn - I am unable to PM anyone. I logged a support ticket about 7 days ago, but never got a response, however, the support ticket does not appear even in my support ticket area. I have sent another one just a moment ago. I am unsure as to how to uninstall it from Firefox. I Googled it but I do not feel safe using any of the responses. Cheers - Berny

Let me know how it goes!

Nathaniell has it for you.

It's adware. You have to uninstall it from Firefox or from your list of programs in Control Panel

Unfortunately it does not appear in my list of installed programs for me to delete in control panel. I have tried that Nathaniell. I will PM Trialynn for advice on removing it in firefox. Cheers - Berny

Thanks Katie - I'll try that after dinner.

I am not much of an expert on this ,, perhaps if you uninstalled firefox and run your internet security, then re-install it see if that works, if you cannot get an answer here try the live chat to for there is usually someone online hope you do resolve it

No matter what I try, I don't seem to be able to PM these guys, do you have any ideas why please? It just keeps telling me "they have to be a premium member to PM them". Which

annie thay are the best some how I get help whin I need it think you

Never had problems to pm to kyle or carson.

I have had no problems, pm from profile like gathjen says hope it works

I had the same problem when I joined. You can't type in their names, you have to go to their profiles to PM them. Garth

Could be a technical problem on your end or theirs. I just searched for them in my PM and they both came up.

Is it that difficult already to PM him? i tried at least 3 times and he and Carson did reply to me. HAve you tried submitting a ticket ?

I've noticed that on a couple of occasions when trying to send a PM to Kyle that it does not work - his name DOES NOT show up at all, when it should, and the more letters you add, the more names show up but it does not connect to him

Yes, it works that way by hitting the mail tab, then typing in K or Carson. I have ran into that problem before. I think after I typed in the question, it would lose the person I was trying to send it too.

Me too no prob. go ahead and click on the mail envelope 3 squares to the left of your profile pic on top and click in the name field then hit the K key to get Kyle. I hope this helps you.

That's strange. I tried doing it and it seemed fine. Wow, I wonder what could be happening.
