Strategy for Not Giving Up

Giving up is easy.

Finding ways to persevere and fight the urge to quit is harder. But nothing is impossible : with hard work, strong goals and determination I believe you can accomplish anything =)

If you are thinking about giving up or you are scared you might want to give up in the future (I assume we all do, at some point during our journey...) here are some tips that I believe could help you :

1) Get inspiration from others, people who have succeeded and never given up. Learn from them

2) Go back to your WHYs : why are you doing this? What are your dreams?

3) Adopt a "I won't give up" state of mind. Make quitting not an option.

4) Build a vision board : think about your dreams, write down your goals and find ways to achieve them. Look at your vision board every day

5) Set small goals every day : you can't build a house without foundations

6) Celebrate all your successes, even the tiniest ones

7) Ask for help, you don't have to be alone in this

8) Learn to let go : sometimes there's nothing you can do except forget about it and move on.

9) Stop using lame excuses and get to work ! Success takes time and hard work. If you keep at it, you WILL see a return on your investment

10) Take a break. Sometimes you don't realize you work too much and too hard. Being committed is great but not taking breaks is actually not healthy. Your mind will feel refreshed after a long walk or a relaxing bath (or anything else). When you feel like giving, just do something else and get back to it.

Thanks, Sarah!!
your message today, woke me up!
I definitely needed "Not Giving Up" mentality.
Thanks again for nice message.

As someone who leaves WA and webwork frequently and for long periods of time, I find my goals have changed. I have little interest in seeking financial return or gain. I find greater motivation in meaningful contribution; creating community of the marginalized. While away I continue to receive reports of visitations to my website's facebook page. These are people who are reaching out for what I offer. i feel compelled to stay with it because of them. I want to nourish them. I don't seek recompense. All this altruism still hasn't lead me back to any hands on webwork yet, but I am committed enough to continue to pay my premium membership and I have great faith that I'll figure out a way to get back in the swing.

Great post Sarah. I have to say that in the past I have considered giving up when faced with frustrating options (usually costing more money for sub-standard training) on other platforms, but I have not even come close since joining WA. Every day is like a fresh start with new followers, likes and a rapid rise in the ranks.
I love it!
Just a note also to my newer followers. Sorry if I have not acknowledged your follow but please be assured that I am following you all in return and I view every blog and question, with a reply wherever appropriate.
Onward and upward!
Terry

Great post Sarah, and what a good list of motivational quotes!

Thanks Sarah for the positive quotes. I think of giving up because I'm not a tech person and it's a bit of a struggle. All the best in your wa business regards

Thanks Sarah I love the quotes all from people I also follow and find very inspirational. I suppose the bottom line is making mistakes and learning from failure is an essential part of understanding business and without that we can't succeed anyway. - Marie

Very helpful. Something I needed to read tonight :-) thanks so much for sharing :-)

Very nicely put Sarah.

It is EASY to give up, but HARD to persevere. But only ONE option will help you achieve your dreams.

Cheers
Wade
