Promoting your page on facebook

Hey wonderful WAers!=) How are you doing today?!

I was wondering if you had ever used the "promote your page" option on facebook? You can pay a minimum of 2€ a day to promote your call to action page and get a certain number of clicks and visits in exchange.

I decided to give it a try yesterday (and pay 14€ for a week to promote my page) and did see an incredible increase in my pages visits (25 views vs 1505 views), along with 14x more clicks on my call to action page.

Can you share your own experience? Is it worth it? Does it lead to more conversions?

Thanks for your time!

Cheers =)

Sarah

Are you promoting your website or your facebook page?

I did it a couple of weeks ago and I got a few more clicks and no conversion.
It was a 8€ budget for 2 days.

My decision was to wait until I reach the lessons in WA training relate a PPC advertisement.

I am advertising my facebook page on google, I subscribed to a 7 days promotions (2€ a day). There is an increase in the clicks on my call to action button and in the views, no conversions yet but only started yesterday... so time will tell! thanks for dropping by!

I would like to visit your Facebook page,

Here's my facebook page Alejandra https://www.facebook.com/successfulbusinessonline

Just gave you a LIKE, happy to follow you on Fb too

thanks you! =)

Thank you for this, it's looking great. Will test it for sure after few weeks when my side have had more work.

For sure =)

This is a great point to bring up Sarah as I'm sure many of us will be considering some sort of fb campaign at some point...I know I am!

Disturbingly though, I did read somewhere recently about the existence of so called "click farms" and these are actually written about by our own Steve, "I've Tried That", in one of his blogs:-

http://www.ivetriedthat.com/2014/08/11/facebook-fraud-is-facebook-using-click-farms-for-fake-likes/

I don't know the full details but it was something like there are these farms of people who spend their days being paid very low wages furiously clicking on ads that are placed by advertisers (like we would be) in order to appear that our ads are getting loads of visitors in response to the ads we place and pay for, or getting hundreds or thousands of "likes" in order to increase the appearance of social engagement.

I'd like to take a closer look at fb ads at some point but I must admit, this sort of thing makes me consider it less rather than more likely that I'll get involved.

Hmmmm very interesting, I certainly don't want to get too many of these fake clicks -_-, I'll read the post you sent thanks a lot!

Interesting point! But are all these people giving fake likes only within the FB platform (as I already knew) or ALSO on external resources (webpages, blogs, etc...)? Because I think this second behaviour is the most important for an IMer...

You're welcome Sarah, certainly something to bear in mind.

Can't be certain on that one but I wouldn't be too happy to think that my fb ad campaign looked like it was a success only to then realise all the clicks were essentially faked!
Mark

I am not getting likes on my facebook page, I am promoting my call to action button (subscribe button) to promote WA, so I hope to increase conversions

@mark1957: well, for this problem there're very little chances that everything is going smooth and ethically... just try googling "facebook ads fake..." and google itself will complete the query proposing... fake likes and ... fake clicks.... Not very good at all I agree!!!

@Sarah: for that page instead (external to facebook) everything should be genuine... but let us know please if you find something weird!

Good post Mark, this is why I asked if you've seen anymore conversions after doing it...I don't know for a fact if what Mark is saying is true but I have heard of the theory/rumor/whatever you want to call it....

I don't understand what you mean lol sorry ( external to facebook? what page?)

If that post was for me Chris I'd have to say that I haven't done any fb advertising yet so don't have any figures to compare with.

Good morning , doing great it's FRIDAY!! loll ...I use the Facebook ads everyday to promote my facebook page, my website and my articles. I've been doing this for years , done that also to promote my MLM.

yay! friday! although days don't mean much anymore since I work from home lol... It's saturday everyday here! =)

thanks for your answer about facebook, but has it lead to more conversions?

Ok ok ok dont rub it in :oP loll No not yet I hope one day that It will lead to it.

Hi Sarah. So how many visits did you actually get. 25 or 1505? I don't get it very well. Please let me also look at your web page. Cheers.

Before promoting my page I would get 25 visits. Since yesterday (early this morning) I have so far reached over 1505 people.
Here's the page www.facebook.com/successfulbusinessonline

I have just recently tried this and has worked well. I paid to get more followers and in one week got over 600 new followers. That was my woodworking projects site though you may not get as many to a make money online site due to the amount of people trying to promote it.
you can check out my page if you go to my profile. My page is inside my website.
Dan

Very interesting, I'll definitely check it out! thanks for sharing!

I paid $60 once and had 4600+ visitors to one of my other sites, but no conversions. Facebook still remains the most touted social media site for promotion, though. I'll try it again soon, I just need to get more monetization on my site for it to be worthwhile. Might be a good way to build a list.

right I see, I suppose it makes sense that if your website is still at an early stage, getting 4600 + visitors wouldn't convert well... I think I'll give it a try, thanks a lot for sharing your experience
Cheers
Sarah

That is something I have often wondered myself. :)

=)

Very interested in this!!!

so am I lol =)
