Kyle said to turn off Mobile Phones in the Devices Settings when creating Google Ads, but should Tablets remain on or turned off also?

Hey Rick,

Personally, I would make ANY mobile device NOT display any ads, not just Google Ads.

Reason being, the more plugins you force load content on a page makes your pages/posts take longer to load.

Again, personally I NEVER make a purchase on a mobile device. I strictly use my tablet for entertainment... and quick searches for information.

All purchase are done from my desktop (which uses a VPN) in order to protect my privacy.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you for the advice.
Rick

Here is a screenshot of the Device Settings if this helps anyone with the answer.

Kyle mentioned in one of the initial PPC training classes that mobile users don't convert as well as desktop users when running PPC ads.

How do I eliminate mobile users

I finally found the Device Settings under Insight and Reports.

You can see some screenshots of where I found them in the attachments below if this helps anyone.

Hey Rick,

In asking DuckDuckGo your question (my preferred search engine for technical questions), it looks like others have asked the same thing and MAY have been given advice that might work for you.

See screen print below...

Running the same search and reading through some of those posts and support pages, may provide you with the resolution you seek.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you so much.
Rick

I just found the Device Settings under Insights and Reports.

Thanks for the direction you started me on. It helped me get to the answer.

Authoring & Writing Content

I have been wrestling with the dilemma of whether to allow ads on my website not.

On one hand, you can make some additional money.

On the other hand, it can distr

I don't mind having ads if they make sense for the content, so I'm only using affiliate ads right now.

My site is much more about information than buying something, so we will one day be focusing on ad networks, Even now, while we are still small, our visitors average 5 page views/visit, so hitting that 1,000 views at 3 ads/page can be achieved fairly quickly.

So yeah, I'm counting on ad$!

Thank you.
Rick

Hey Rick,

My two cents worth on this topic...

I discovered that ads weigh down my sites loading time so badly that I would lose ranking on that alone.

Personally, when seeking help on a topic, if I come across a site with ads all over it, then I will NEVER take that website's content seriously, and I would bounce away.

Hope you find this helpful.

That's extremely helpful. That does seem to be the consensus here.

Thank you.
Rick

as you have a goal for your website - you want to eventually get referrals here then placing ads may distract people...
if you create an info site - what choice do they have to monetize the site - very little...
they are going for visitors and would need to place ads to make money - and with loads of visitors you can make a decent amount per month...
so i would say it depends on your goals for the site....
in your case you may have other offers than just wa ( all eggs one basket comes to mind) but adverts or even banners may not be relevant...
so rather than saying i never want ot use ads ( i was of that mindset at the start) i will evaluate what the visitors want ( it is what i build businesses for - them not me...) if i fell that they may read an informational post and then jump away why not try to temp them with an ad or two....gets you money you wouldn't have and gets google to see that people are clicking on ads getting them revenue- maybe a slight advantage over a site without ads...
i have experimented on one site ( until google ads wanted photo id ) and it was successful....the info posts started making money as well as the affiliate posts...
so i would say testing is in order...
you can always drop them for the future....

Great advice. Thank you.
Rick

No, I do not like ads on my site. Would I do it for monetization purposes? I would not like it because I know many people do not like ads as they are an eyesore and distracting for those who read blogs. That is just my viewpoint. If it's ads, I won't read their post. I scour for posts that have no ads.

I'm with you that if the page is full of ads, I'm bouncing off immediately.

If there are only a few ads and the content is great, then I may stay on the page.

I've also seen on one of my sites that the monetization from the website isn't significant, however, the monetization on YouTube does pay much better.

Thanks for you thoughts on this.
Rick

Sure, you're welcome! I do agree with you that YouTube monetization does pay better.

That is an excellent question, and one I've recently been pondering myself! I was just at that point in the "old" training and hadn't proceeded because I wanted to learn more about it and ponder the factors involved.

I see that Phil has provided some excellent advice in his comment, so I'll defer to his reasoning and expertise in my case. But I wouldn't have gotten the answer to this question, (at least not yet) had you not asked it, so thank you!

Kevin

I've always found through life that when I have a question, there are many others with the same question.

I'm glad I could help.

Is it Best to Create a Custom Homepage Link or a Tracking Link?

I see in one of Kyle's recent courses on "Training and Refining Your Conversions" that the Tracking Link

I believe you're getting the two links confused.

I expect that currently the custom homepage links for each article are links to/from the article to the homepage.

The other Custom links are about conversions, so that you'll know which pages are performing best. That's gathering information for analysis and optimization.

You may be correct.

I created custom homepage links that are generated for each of my website pages/posts, that let me know where the traffic is coming from.

However, Kyle was showing using the tracking links with links created again for each of my web pages/posts that link back to the WA home page.

The custom homepage links give my custom message but there is still one custom homepage link per webpage/post.

I may be running off at the mouth here but there are two ways Kyle recommended creating links. One is the Custom Homepage link and the other is the Tracking link, again, one per page/post.

Do I sound confused...maybe...HELP! I'm unsure which link is the best to use.

Rick

I don't have a tracking link so I wouldn't know, however my custom homepage had served me well.

Along with that, you want to target keywords that folks would input in the search engines to find your MMO website, and within links to sign up the WA platform.

Again here, I would reach out to Viatliy, Roope, Dale etc.. to try to learn more.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice and what you're using.

Rick

Also there's training in classes how to promote WA effectively, you may look them up.
