Have You Ever Felt Like Checking Off the Tasks Without Doing them?

This question demands an honest answer......at least from me.

I'm at the end of Phase 5, Lesson 10 of the Affiliate Bootcamp and there are 16 tasks that need to be completed before I can continue on with my training.

Now be honest with me.....how many of you actually thought about it or wanted to just check off the boxes and move on to the next lesson without actually completing the tasks?

I so badly want to move on with the training but I know creating this content and getting more traffic will be "extremely" important in the upcoming lessons, so I WILL NOT CLICK THE BOXES!!!

Arghhhh!!

Patience my son.........WHATEVER!

I'm not in bootcamp. But yes there have been a few times that I want to check the boxes and not actually do the task. (Mostly because I was having trouble grasping the concept of what to do.) Instead I just stepped away for a while to clear my head and came back and did the task. Figured there is no sense in cheating...I would only be hurting myself in the long run.

Honesty is the best policy and is the code of conduct I have maintained always. I remember as a young boy, about 10 years old, I found a 20 Pound note (back then Fiji my country was a British Colony) so I went to a Policeman his home just nearby and gave him the money and what he did with that money I never knew..

It's important to do the right thing even when you're sure no one is watching.

Rick

Tempted? Sure.
Gave in? Never.
I felt like that would only be cheating myself.
That's why I've been here since last August and only just completed the 3rd Certification course.
That being said, I do feel that I have gained a lot of knowledge and my COMPREHENSION has increased dramatically with all this tech stuff -- it's all starting to sink in and come together.
The last two weeks were my best ever, yet still pretty slow because of all the content creation required by the lessons.
Very hard to "create on command," I must admit.
Still -- worth it.
I don't need to ask as many questions about how to do things with my site as a result of the slow-and-steady approach.
Hope this helps.

I have to admit it can be quite tempting sometimes, especially when you don't see the point at that time. However, when looking back, each task makes sense. So when you miss one out and cut corners, you won't have all your building blocks together.
But I can't imagine that there is anybody out there who hasn't felt tempted at some point.

I feel like the oddball now by saying no, I haven't. BUT, it's only because of previous training in my life that taught me skipping is "loser mentality". Those are my words I say to myself, NOT anyone on here. (helps keep me doing the right things in life) However, with that said...I have stalled on here many times because of it.
When I get to those parts Rick, I have to do something that puts me in such an upbeat mood, almost overly excited to push through. Hopefully, you figure out what you need to do.

BTW - I have been looking forward to getting to the Bootcamp program -

HUH??? LOL - I think I'm about to take one of those breaks again...haha.

LOL......thanks for making me laugh.

The Bootcamp really takes things up a notch in the training. At least it did for me.

Rick

It's often tempting but no pain no gain. Sorry, had to say it.

Truth is doing the tasks often leads to even more benefits than expected so going through the motions is also not an option for me.

Sometimes I do find I have to leave a box unchecked, move on, and go back to it a little later. Then it's much easier to do and makes more sense that it did before.

I did do that once when I had to wait on some feedback or something like that but I did go back like you did and finish it a few days later.

But that was only one task and this has 16 tasks!!!!

Does it seem like I'm whining a little? :)

Rick

LOL REALLY LOL. Yea but I understand. It's like when you start and at the end of each lesson is write a post. When I started it could take me two days just to figure out what to write about. Really slows down the learning.

Hey Rick I know how you feel and trust me when I say this don't try to skip this please cause if you were to do it and you realize later on that you don't know how to do something your going to regret it.

Yes we are keen to move forward and get it done and over with and honestly I'm here to help if you wantme to whether it's just needing advice or just need to blow of some steem.

At first I felt the same way as you are now but the most important thing I did was taking a step back and ask myself what will happen if I skipped a step? And then how will I benefit if I didn't.

And trust me there are more reasons not to skip than there is to actually do it. Hang in there I promise you everything will look better in a few days time.

Angelique

Great advice Angelique!

It's only my pleasure

I don't unless it is something that I have already managed to do before I got to that lesson. In that instance it was done already, so checking off the boxes didn't feel like cheating.

However, that lesson will definitely trip me up, simply due to the fact that I have stage fright and tend to be camera shy, but it will have to get done, and it's good to face my fears.

I was not wanting to do any videos but I have gotten over that, especially after hearing how many people prefer videos and how that can help a lot here.

Rick

I didn't tick the box but I did go on with the training in the certification course when it told you quite early on, when you have not learned how to add images and you have next to no content, to ask for feedback. I couldn't see any point in doing that at that stage. It just means I have to remember where I am. It doesn't automatically place me at the right point. I will do that task and tick the box when I feel the time is right.

I hear you on what you're saying and I know some do that here.

This one particular set of tasks is different though because the follow up lessons kind of require that you are getting some good traffic, so I will wait to move on and check these off when I finish....even though that may take me two weeks.

Rick

If the follow up tasks require it, then there isn't really a way round it. You'll just have to patiently complete one task after the other.

Patience, Grasshopper... :-)

Honestly, I have thought of it because I was at the point in training where your supposed to open up an account for Facebook, Twitter, etc. and I’m just not sure I wanted to do that, so I’m kinda slow motion right now still trying to decide what I’m going to do.
God bless,
Marcus

I can totally relate...

I wasn't into the social stuff but I made that jump and now share every post on the social networks.

It get's easier as you do it.
