I have a number of .co.uk domains . Does WA provide hosting for them

Since the last comments to this subject a year ago, I wonder if there's any news regarding the .co.uk domain availability. Does anyone know? I'm not necessarily thinking about transferring existing .co.uk website, but when you choose the domain name for a brand new website, all you get in terms of availability is .com or .net or .org

It may or may not Giuli, but go to the likes of GoDaddy.com and check, if you can buy a domain name there with .co.uk, then you can buy the domain name there and just redirect the nameservers (very, very simple) to the WA nameservers and then it takes literally 10 mins usually (sometimes longer) to have them forward and it's just like you bought them here.

I know this, as the WA team walked me through it and told me if I have my domain names elsewhere we can forward them :-)

So you could definitely get the co.uk somewhere and forward them... GoDaddy.com is very competitive and reliable, hence my suggestion to use them (they're all i use).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Adam, I should definitely look into this :)

Hi there - just wondering if you had any more advice on the .co.uk thing.
I have a .co.uk domain - have you redirected the nameservers on one yourself and if so - how is it?
Any problems?
Jane

Do you know what Jane - and sorry about that Adam, I didn't mean to ignore your advice at all - but since the above reply, I really haven't had time to even start considering looking into transferring to .co.uk extension. I have straggled with time management and my efforts and worries have been taken by the lack of time over the need to post more than I have managed so far. I have also started my online business website, which has of course added to my overall work load, so no joy so far. But by all meanss you should look on the https://www.godaddy.com site. I think you pay approx. £2 per month, so it may turn ever so slightly dearer than here at WA (and here you can use the .siterubix extension for free), but they do have the .co.uk extension available there.
Good luck, and let me know how you get on Jane!!
Giulia :)

Thanks -have pointed my wordpress site here to a .co.uk domain I own - all looks good so far!

Excellent news Jane, well done!!

It will. But before you transfer existing site, regardless of domain name, to WA hosting thing about if you need Cpanel access - for example. WA doesn't offer this. So, it isn't suitable for everyone.

Thank you I probably do need it if WA don't have one - how is email organised

Yes i think that WA cover all domains as long as you have your websites here so that you can link them :)

By the sound of it I think I'll leave my existing websites where they are. I can't afford any problems with emails etc because my transport company depends on them. I'll keep WA for this adventure :)
