I have been asked if I can build a basic website for friend of mine, is it possible to build that site here on WA and give her the login?

Thanks for asking the question. I needed the answers too! I want to create a site for my Mom to tinker with. Tim's answer is the perfect solution.

You can, yes. Set up a website, then on that website set them up with a user account. Then, they can log into that user account by going to the domains URL /wp-admin. So like, if their website URL that you set up for them is "http://www.Ilovegrapes.com" they would simply go to "http://www.ilovegrapes.com/wp-admin" and log in as them and they would never see your WA page. That said though, it might be a better idea to introduce them to WA through your affiliate link and have them sign up for an account and learn to set up their own website. You would get commission and credit for it. But the simple answer to your question is yes you can.

Thanks Tim! That's what i was thinking. I wasn't sure of the rules here at WA in regards to this and couldn't find the information. It would be great if she had an interest in this but at this time she is very busy setting up her business offline. She basically just wanted a landing page to promote her dance classes. .

Not a problem! I am glad I could help.

TimsBus, Thank you! I want to create a site for my Mom. She is quite devout in her faith and she would enjoy having a place to put her messages and that way she can learn a bit of WordPress. Your solution is perfect. I will see her in a couple of weeks and I can set it up on her computer for her to log into. Gina

A friend of mine asked me the same question, and my answer was "no". I know it sounded a.vit selfish, but for them to log in they have to log in into the WA , which means they will have access to this main page. Then they have to be a member of the WA. ☺ Of course as friend you can help them externally -there are plenty of free webhosting sites outside and you can help them set up a simple website. ☺

Same here, i did not want a friend logging into my WP and messing things up i simply said no.

Hey thanks for your reply. As Tim says above they don't need to log into WA to get into WP dashboard. You can create a login for them.

Hey, thats interesting, i did not know vut good to be aware for future reference ☺

I've just noticed I have spam in my comments area on my website.
Could someone please explain to me, why some comments have gone there? ( as some of them seem legit)
And sec

Spam comments are usually not posted by real people. These are bots. Here's more info about bots if you're interested.

Interesting question. Thanks for the answer Forrest.

Your Askimet plugin will put anything it thinks is spam into your spam folder. Make sure any comments to your site looks as if the person actually read your article and is commenting on the content of the article, If it is unrelated, it is spam. Usually comments with links is spam. For further reading

Thank you, Forest,
Your info really helped, I do remember Kyle's lesson about deleting the spam from time to time so I wasn't sure.

Make sure you have your settings so that you have to approve all comments. That way spam wont get published unless you approve it!

I've changed over my siterubix to .com using the tutorial here, about 2 days ago.
But the old siterubix name is still showing in places such as, the tab heading on a webpage, wh

I need to do this myself and after finally getting my open graph image to work on facebook, I am concerned I will have the same problem. I will be following the answers you get and your updates.

HI Gina, sorry, but what is an open graph image? Have I missed something in the training. I'm worried I haven't done something right.
Cheers
Bec

I have not seen open graph in the trainings at least not yet. It controls your image and description for Facebook. Go to FB to a new post and type in your url and include http (http://websitename.com) and see what pops up and if you are happy with it. If not, I can try to help. It took me a week to get mine right finally. This way you can share your website on FB with a clickable image.

Ok, I just typed it into my update status area, do I need to post it first ?

See the below pic, it just shows a link and then you can see it still has my old website name.

You could try opening a support ticket to get your domain issue resolved https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support. Once it is fixed. Check it again on FB. I am just not sure if you will be wasting your time messing with it until then. You can see your image and description in FB URL Debugger and the settings are under Social Meta in SEO in your website. Still I think you need to get your first issue fixed first, but if you are stubborn like me, then have at it. Look at this site http://www.addthis.com/blog/2012/09/27/debugging-sharing-to-facebook/#.VS3VVF3F8iB

Thank's Gina, I'll open a support ticket and get it sorted firstly. lol I don't want to stuff it and then have to go back and do things again. Thank you for all your help :)

I hope it is more helpful than confusing. I am new myself and doing my best to get my website going.

Wow, got a very fast response. So simple. It was my description on in SEO which was causing the header to show the old name :)
All fixed now I can work on my fb sharing, it should be fine now.

Fantastic! On with the show... :)

You may have 2 sites, the 'old' siterubix site and your new domain site. When you go the things you mention, which site were you in? Go to your new domain site directly and see does it display the way you want. After I moved my sites over from siterubix, I almost immediately deleted them there -- however you may need to do backups etc first - in case it does not work the way you expected.

Thank's for your reply David. From what I understand I am logged into my .com site and it is still showing the old name. Am I missing something? I thought we weren't to delete our siterubix site once we changed it over?

Maybe the best thing to do is to raise a ticket with WA Support?

*** I am not 100% sure of the following ***
I think that if you log into WA, and then log into your .com website via WA Site Rubix, that if you go to your WA Dashboard, then Settings, then General. I think that if you update the values for site title and tag line that may help. If you do update, remember to click the update button when done.
