I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing VERY slow page loads when editing a page in Wordpress and WHAT to do about it if we can do anything.

Yes I have been. It may be due to the latest WP refresh. You can try a support ticket and they can check it out.
Maybe too many Plugins.
Or
Maybe you should have one more to speed your WP up.
Its called - ZenCache (formely called Quick Cache).
If you already have this installed then obviously there has to be another reason.

I've not been having any problems. My computer has been slow, but I just cleaned it up and it's much faster now, so I wouldn't have noticed it if WP had been slow.

I was wondering if it might have to do with me uploading a new theme that is really involved.
I have been having that problem intermittently for a few weeks now. Someone said that there is a lot of maintenance and/or upgrading going on.

I'm having problems with my computer slowing down on the WA as I'm doing my course. My iPad is experiencing the same thing. What's up with that?
It does appear to be slow at times. I have just learned to close and restart. It is annoying but I blame Century Link. LOL!
Upsgirl I just had my techy daughter exam the WA site and its slow because of the mass use of the servers. I'm rural so I don't have the highest internet speed like you all. I don't think this is going to work for me. I can't move further in the course if I can't build a website. What is your suggestion?
Well, actually, WA is above average...well above average. I have tested too. I watched every video studder and I made it. I have a rather slow speed. Yup, everything studders from Century Link...lol!

Hi Randy, the best way to see it first hand is to sign out of your WA account , then place the link in the url and hit enter, this will show you what the person should be looking at on the other end since they don't have an account yet. I have tested it and as autumn56 explained, that is what I have seen. Let me know how that works.

Normally they are able to see the content that they have clicked to and then somewhere in the middle of scrolling down maybe or depending on how long they are on the page the box pops up asking people to join. i think though that you can close it or read around it, at least sometimes i need to do that when im not on my computer and im clicking over to read something without logging in.
And also just so that you are aware, your profile and anything that you create you dont need to use an affiliate link to =), if someone comes in through your profile or through any content you have created it will count as your referral.

I tried to make a certain image and use it for my background on my site but I can only see it on one side of my site and it wasn't big enough to stretch across the entire page.
Hi Beards, have you tried using the search bar at the top? if you type in background images, search will pop up blogs, questions and some lessons :-) hope this helps

I'm sorry guys, it's only my newbienest that keeps me from pushing forward quicker then I would like. The Question should have read "How do I get a Facebook App ID" not api key. :-(
Apparently, certain plugins that work with facebook need to have a code or key placed in the settings to work. It is not a side bar widget. I found out you need to sign up as a developer to acquire an App ID.

AND I finally got it. I just wasn't sure about having to sign up as a Developer for I was not developing anything that I knew of but that is what is necessary if you want to get the App ID.
