Curing Morning Sickness

One of the first symptoms I experienced during my pregnancy was nausea now it didn't really turn into full-blown "morning" sickness until the 2nd trimester, lucky me. Even before I was pregnant I began to feel sensitive to certain smells and foods that would cause me to become nauseous making it hard for me to eat an actual meal, usually leaving me to feel empty later on.

After finding out that I was pregnant is when I finally had an explanation and was able to finally start looking for ways to feel better. So here are the tricks that helped me through nausea and into the morning sickness, I did end up eventually going to my doctor for an anti-nausea medication because I was starting to lose weight which didn't become a huge problem but it was enough to cause some red flags. So I also want to put a note in on the fact that if you are doing everything you can to help with nausea and morning sickness with little or no results causing major weight loss do get a hold of your doctor they can give you medication to help.

Okay now, let's get to the juicy part, how do you start to feel a little bit more normal.

  • Find a food that you can keep down and use it. Here is a small list of foods that have helped other women including myself with taking care of morning sickness.
    • Toast
    • Saltine crackers
    • Fruits & Vegetables
    • Pasta
    • Yogurt
    • Popsicles
    • Herbal Teas Though it is told that ginger root helps with nausea I honestly can't stand the taste so I peppermint instead and it worked very well.
    • Gum (peppermint helped me the most)
    • Ginger Ale
    • Essential Oils I discovered a trick of having a wrist band that has the essential oils infused into it on me so, therefore, I could keep it on me all day and didn't affect others around me. (I discovered this back when I was waitressing at Buffalo Wild Wings).
    • Epsom Salt Bath

Okay, there you have it, a list of foods that will help you feel better and help you keep that precious life fed, despite their pickiness.

Comment if you know of any other foods or drinks that have helped you with feeling a little bit normal.
