If I were to leave WA then would I lose all the work I have done here at WA? Do I start a new wordpress site and tie it to my website? Just curious!

OOPS! typo!! Its supposed to say IF not lif!

HI, I am sorry to hear that you are thinking of leaving WA. However, provided you have your own domain name, you will just need to migrate your website to your new host. Of course, backup is always the first thing to do.
If there is anything you need help with in any way, just ask.

You would need to make a backup of your current site on WA. You can then import it into a new site on another host. There is some training on it. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll go dig it up for you.

Do you mind if I ask why you are leaving?

I am trying to decide what to do. I don't know if I will leave WA yet. Our budget is TIGHT and I don't have much time to work on my site so I can't decide if I should keep paying WA if I don't have the time to build my site... How long did it take you to make money?

Hi Becky, I'm reluctant to answer how long it took me to make money, not to be rude, but because it is really an irrelevant question as I'm assuming that you are asking so you can get an idea of how long it will take you to make money. That is an impossible question for anyone to answer.

The truth is some people will start making money soon and some people will work at it for quite some time before they start to see a return. There are just too many factors to give you a good honest answer like how much time you have to invest into this, how well you are progressing in the training, how fast your pages begin to rank, etc... I've talked to people who have had their first conversion within a month and others who it took a year.

When I first got into trying to make money online (long before I found WA), my wife and I were in pretty dire straits financially. I was looking for a quick way out. This aint it. You will work at this and work hard. It will take time. But I believe that anyone can do it. The key is learning how to do it, then when the industry changes, learn how to do it again.

I'm telling you this, not to discourage you, but so you know the truth. You can make this a full time career. I know people who do. But if you only have time to do one or so blog post per week it will take longer, but it can still happen.

I looked through your website and you have a terrific start to it. I would strongly recommend that you continue with the training and keyword research. One thing I would recommend is that you spread your posts out a bit. Don't change your existing posts, but you have three posts that you created on Nov 14. That is great if you can keep up that kind of a schedule but few people can. I would recommend aiming for two great quality posts per week. If you have time and inspiration to do more, bank them for weeks when you don't have as much time. Search engines want to see consistency and if you post every day for a few months and then not at all for a few weeks it can actually cost you rank. This may help with the issue you're currently having where you don't have much time to post.

As far as the fees at WA are concerned, $47/month is outlandish if you're just looking for hosting. But the training, tools and community here are worth it, IMHO. I hope you decide to stick around, but I understand this type of a venture is not for everyone.

I hope all this helps and whatever you decide, I wish you the best in your endeavors.

I am making a blog that has recipes. I am trying to figure out how to make pictures link to the recipe. I have looked at specific food blogs but I can't figure out how to get t

You can tinker with the menu and set the posts up to go into the menu as well as on the home page

Thanks!

You're very welcome!

This is because your home page is set up as a blog roll. I have mine like this too and prefer it as my newest post is always right up top.

A great way to "sort" your posts by topic is to use categories instead of pages. I have very few pages and many posts and a handful of categories. Check this out and see if it helps you out: ROCK ON!
