the point about having a website is to get people to visit and stay long enough to buy, sign up or do something else that will help you make money and, of course, help them find answers to their problems or issues.
A story about jewelry and how it works and how flexible it can be will be a great one.
When you get to a page that actually starts the pre-selling of your products, talk more specifically about them and how they can benefit the reader.
You may still not have to do a lot of hard selling; Let the affiliate's website do that, but try and get the reader to click on the affiliate link you offer them.
1 Question: I just finished writing something, do I have to be an affiliate with amazon before I create my website and describe a piece of jewelry I like? I am not selling a product....just products that I like from amazon.
it doesn't have to be related to amazon products or amazon itself.
It is saying you can get the items from amazon and create a topic on that product if you do not have any ideas on what to write. You can write absolutely anything you want.
So be creative. =)
If you add selling details you will be able to add affiliate links to that info.

You can write any content you wish on your niche. If you choose jewelry you can talk about various topics pertaining to jewelry. I see you asking about Amazon products/affiliate.
You can also become an affiliate with other affiliate networks like Clickbank, Shareasale, Linkshare, or CJ (commission junction); just to give you some more ideas. It's pretty simple and free.
Using the networks will allow you to check out various affiliate programs under one umbrella. So I wish you much success!
