My Anxiety Is Running My Life

Hello WA Family I just need to vent this as I am struggling with severe anxiety and I really want to build my new website and have been trying to create content but my anxeity has got the better of me

I can't concentraite on anything and I have ringing in my ear. I feel awful and I am fustrated as I want to get on with building my online business but its all on hold at the moment as I feel so unwell

I am angry at those who caused this through years of systimatic emotional and mental abuse I am paying a heavy price for their behavour

For so many years I have struggled with mental health and still it continues

I just needed to vent this

Well Barry, if I were you I first get my mental health right by going to the doc. Talk your problems over with a healthcare professional. Until you get a handle on this area in your life, it's gonna be tough and very difficult to focus on anything else. Good luck.

My doctor has got me on anti-anxiety medication, along with anti-depressants. So I know where you are coming from. I have many of the same problems.

All I can say is to take it slow and give it as much time as it takes. Don't push it trying to set goals that aren't realistic. A little bit here and a little bit there is fine. Take the big problems and break them down into littler, more manageable problems. Sometimes it can take me two or three days to write a single post because it requires huge amounts of research - sometimes it takes four hours of research to do one hour of writing. I don't try to do it all at once. And I'm not terribly impressed by people bragging about writing three posts a day.

I have a simple way of dealing with people who cause me problems - the hell with them, at least for a time. This can be very hard with people you care about, but sometimes it's the only solution.

Hey Barry! I am so sorry you are having a difficult time with anxiety. I, too, struggle with anxiety and have come a long ways in learning to cope. There are many things that have contributed to my recovery. One includes learning meditation and mindfulness. I also have had Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which really has helped. I know you will find a way through this. Hang in there!

I don't mean to sound trite, but do you exercise? I find HIIT and weight training are the best antidotes to depression and anxiety.

You can do this Barry. I always think of the old joke - "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

Think of your site as just a series of small bites. Maybe just write the opening sentence of your post today. Maybe just do a bit of keyword research. There's no pressure here, no deadlines. Doing a little bit each day will add up to a lot before you know it. You'll also develop some strong new habits which will help you overcome this anxiety on future projects.
