How To Access Your Wordpress Files Without Using FTP
Hello and welcome to Wordpress Tips For WA members
There are a lot of questions on how to access your Wordpress files on the server and most people can do this using an FTP client. This works but there is an easy way
You can install a plugin called WP Files which will allow you to access all your wordpress files inside your own WP dashboard
Once you install the plugin and activate it you just click on the WP file manager in the WP dashboard and it will display all your WP Files
Its just the same as FTP but it is easier as there are no passwords or usernames required it can be done from within your WP dashboard
Hope you found this useful

Very interesting. Never thought about accessing wordpress files that way. I have always used FTP.
Will have to take a look and see what the implications are.

I did a little research.
I did notice that there can be associated risks with installing a WP file manager because hackers can get at the website and the recommended way is using FTP which is accessing at the server level. I know WA has good protection at the server level.
Yes, we know using FTP can be more cumbersome.
WA is such a great place to share findings with each other.
I guess so but if someone hacks into your WP site they can probably install the plugin themselves
Yes, hackers can do so many things.
As for us, we are going to use the old fashioned way (FTP) and not add more tempting ways for hackers to intrude our sites. We try and make it as difficult as possible so they go for the easy sites first.
