18 Years Of Sobriety Today
Today marks the aniversary of my last alcoholic drink which was 18 years ago today
I have had to rebuild my life from the ground up, and am still dealing with the consequnces of years of systimatic, emotional and mental abuse
I have made many mistakes as we all do, but I have always got three things rught
- I have not taken the first drink
- I have never run away from my pain
- I have put the 12 step progtram into practic every day
I have no words to describe the pain I have felt from years of abuse but I am still sober and the struggles I have had have made me realize that I am stonger than I could ever imagine

Good for you! I wish some of my family members could have learned from you. But because I watched them as I grew up, I've been sober. Well, I can have a drink every few months or back in the day I could smoke a little weed, and those events didn't make me want more.
Congratulations on your sobriety!!! I have been clean and sober for 35 years. I understand the struggle you face daily. Continue on your path. You have accomplished more than most. Keep up the good work.

Barry, you are an inspiration! That is so great to hear about your accomplishment. That's by far the biggest thing you've done in your life. But the additional truth is, if you can do that, you can do anything you set your mind to.
I have a friend who took her last drink about two weeks ago. She's decided it was truly affecting her ability to be a mom, and her son was worth everything. We are supporting her in every possible way.
Keep it up, Barry, every day for the rest of your wonderful life!
