Spamming

Much has been written lately about members spamming other members and I am deeply concerned.

I click the spam button all the time. Not on WA. I have never seen any reason for doing so.

But daily I get stuff in my personal email that is unsolicited and or just downright annoying. Always way too much political solictations for my liking.Often I send it to spam not because there is anything wrong with the material per se. I just don’t see it fitting into my plans.

I’d be curious to know if some of the “spamming “ that goes on here on the blog happens with the same intent. It’s not malicious. Do the people who click “spam” just not want it cluttering the screen. More of a knee jerk reaction than an intent to do harm.

Any thoughts
Cheers

I think the same way you do. I have never actually seen a reason to click spam. I do not know if I have been sheltered, or if I just am not worried about it.
WA is voluntary, and I can choose to ignore a post at any time.

That is enough for me.

Totally agree

It's hard to know. Hopefully someone who uses the spam button often will come on and explain why. If the system is continuously getting spam calls from the same source you would think that they would investigate.

When I see any unknown visitors in my WA email I sent it to spam for it not to resurface. I don't want any distraction, that's how I see them.

It won't remove it from your screen, Dan! There is a cogwheel at the top, and if it is someone else's post, you can click spam there. When there are enough, it disappears! It is easier to delete the post if it is not your cup of tea, and it doesn't affect the writer!

I need to be clear. I have never spammed any one on the site, nor do I intend to. If I don't agree, I pass it by.

Okay, sorry if I misunderstood, Dan!

No worries😎😎

Much appreciated, Dan!

Yes, Dan ... especially on older email addresses.
One of the problems is those marketers who change the From name such that it isn't recognisable without me going out of my way to check it out. I can't work out why they do that.
