How my plans changed today

I got up this morning to a light dusting of snow and a grey dawn. This is not untypical for a late january day in Western New York. In fact I like it like this. Besides it's winter.. What would you expect.

So here I am. It's 6 a.m. House is chilly, Sky is grey. Down the stairs and turn on the gas stove and crank up the thermostat on the furnace. Thank goodness for modern technology.

Off to the kitchen and greet the Border Collie and put the ketttle on for the morning brew.

The pups woofs a few times and looks at the door. Oh right. So out he goes to chase a few squirrels.

I can feel my energy building. I trade the options everyday and like to get things done before the markets open so I can focus on how the world is looking at all the latest news.

While Star is outside I set up the Chemex pot, grind the beans, and put out the coffee mugs. This is going to be a GOOD day. I can just feel it.

The water boils and Star wants to come inside. Multi-tasking at its best. With bone in his mouth he watches me pour and wait for the bloom. Then two more pour downs and the elixir is ready for cream and sugar.

As I sit in front of my laptop and check my e-mail. It's seems slow. Not the usual bevy of messages. The dog is by my side looking up with eyes that are questioning my sanity.

I know what he wants - the daily rwo mile walk.

Winter boots, heavy coat and off we go. I'll have just enough time to do some prep when we get back. Is this really Monday morning?

Very quiet. Almost no cars and foot traffic is unusually low. This is a small city, but gee. What's up?

Twenty minutes later and were back at the door. My neigbor who is usually out before me says good morning.and takes his paper inside. He's still in his robe. Must have a cold and is staying home today. Strange. Nothing seems right. Not wrong. Just off a bit.

Damn. I missed the 9:30 open. MY screen is not moving at all. Quotes seem out of wack P/l same as Friday last.. My trading buddy in California hasn't called. Must have slept in, too.

Oh. no. then it hits me......

Martin Luther King day. Markets are closed!!!! What a relief. I guess I'll just have to settle in and have another cup and play with the dog. .

All is right with the world afterall.

Have a great day everyone

Well said, Dan! Sounds like a successful morning!

Jeff

If I were you, I would take the pup out and continue the walk in the new snow. Have a great day.

He gets four long walks everyday. He's a border collie and they get nutsy if they can't exercise. Helps me, too

Hi Dan, sounds like a nice relaxing day, the kind we could all do with from time to time!

Thanks Yes it became that way, when I realized I was actually awake...

Cheers,
Dan

It's always important to recognize when one is awake my friend!!!

so true..

Yes it is a quiet day and isn't that just fine? It's a day to stop and consider why a man took up a cause for people who had been first slaves and then second class citizens. A not too popular cause but a worthy cause, nevertheless. He may have thought his stand might lead to some people threatening him with mayhem, but he felt his cause was justifiable, no matter what the cost.
The country is better for his sacrifice.
Have a great day.

Thank you, for sharing,baughsten.

I was really captured. I look forward to the day I will be able to narrate or rather tell no, write as you do. It felt as if you right here telling me word for word. that is rear.

I am glad your day was not lost, and you can trade tomorrow. I would like to acquire that skill one day. I would also like to write like you do if you do not mind sharing your formula.

Have a great day too.

Hi,Ntlhane,
I'm really glad you liked the piece. Lately, I am trying to do more aurtomatic writing to limber me up so I can contribute more blogs.
Besides, it's a lot fun.
What I do is to write quick, one-liners. No paragraphs. No editing. No inner voice saying,"that doesn't sound right". I am just telling my movement as I experience it. Very personal. Almost stream of consciousness. Type and go. Edit and add images later. Let me know how it goes for you. Feel free to send message, if you like.
Option trading is a learnable skill also,
Best of success to you, my friend.
Dan

Thank you, Dan.

Most definitely. I can believe it is that simple. Well, you make it sounds simple. As said by great architects "less is more". I am sure to try and will let you know of my progress.

With regards to trading what could be the approach?
I am very interested.

I still can not believe the clarity in your explanation, it does make sense.

Thank you once more.

I am done for the Night.

Doing is the important thing. We all have this little editor in our brain. Nasty little fellow sometimes. Need to put him to sleep, when you write. Check out my website( www.optionsactions.com) It's about options trading for beginners. I'd appreciate your input.
Have a good evening.

Dan
