Content as storytelling
Recently I read an article about content and story telling.
The gist of the article was that as content writers we should think of our posts, blogs, etc, as stories and use the h3 headings as a means by which we lead our readers to the end and ultimate Call to Action
The title should clarify what to expect in the content and the H3 headings help to organize the information to your readers satisfaction.
Much like a recipe the headings are the steps that fulfill the idea of the story. You want to craft a great story and not leave any thing essential out of the mix.
When I think of my content in the light of a story, I find myself becoming much more engaged in the piece. I find that my research become much more thorough. I want to make sure that I am giving the reader as complete a picture of my idea as possible.
Using the H3 topic headings as markers, I am more confident that I am not missing the most salient points in the discussion. So far I feel I am writing better content Only time will tell if this is so.
If anyone has considered their content in the light of story telling, I would love to hear how you go about your process.
Have a great week everyone.

I try to understand the personalities in my audience and write for them. I go into groups, forums, Q&A sites and do research to come up with content. Then I squash all that together within a writing and plan.
Indeed we are writing to inform our readers. It is difficult to do that, if we don't know who they are and what they need.
Thanks for sharing your insights..
