Building the house

I have no idea whether or not this has happened to you but I know it has for me.

I began this journey believing in the training and had the hope that if I just followed the law I’d be in great shape. Well I have to say that my reach was just beyond my grasp and it has taken me a bit longer to feel comfortable with all things SEO.

Often the phrase reach beyond your grasp has negative connotations. But I believe a person should try to accomplish their goals even when they seem unattainable.

My analogy for my progress is what I would call the dominion effect. Little did I know the number of pieces I would need to arrange before everything would fall in place. I guess this should come as no surprise. Most things take a lot longer to do than what appears so at first glance.

So all in all I feel good about my progress. I am confident I can use the tools to get the job done. I know where to reach in my toolbox to find what I need and the task now is to build the house I want to build.

I know how to read the plans.

Now I just need to start fitting the parts together and do it

It is always good to reach further than we are comfortable with - it helps us grow. Of course, we should not bite off more than we can chew and end up choking our efforts.

It is always a balancing act. Luckily WA gives us bite-sized pieces to learn and grow until we are ready to branch out and try new ideas.

I too have struggled with proper SEO. I have read widely on the subject, and now I am boiling it down into a template to follow.

Apologies for the many "trite" phrases in this post - but they seemed to fit.

Alex

Your comments are right on point. Thanks for sharing your ideas I appreciate it.

Hi Dan, I have felt the way as you do here, whilst the training provided is fantastic in my opinion, there are so many other things which we can learn at each little junction when building an online business.

The truth is, there is so much information out there to learn about, that it is impossible to learn and understand everything.

As Richard has mentioned before, young Partha has written a few fantastic blogs recently, (including one today which I will get to properly as my bedtime reading)! Which offer a slightly different perspective on writing resources and how best to get traffic to your site basically.

I have learned a lot from them and would highly recommend checking them out, (quick disclaimer, they are not quick reads, but worth every second you put into reading them!)

Take care my friend and have a fabulous day!

I do feel however that WA has synthesized the process very well. As you move along in this space you are exposed to so much stuff that it is easy to get off the dime. But until you play the game for a while it’s hard to know which end is up. I think the KISS formula is a good way to go. When you are exposed to a process like WA it’s hard not to think that there must be so much more.
I have searched far and wide and been to the track. My money is on Kyle, Carson and WA
Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Keep going forwards.

Hi Dan
You've triggered the thought/question in my mind of which comes first, SEO or writing? It's tricky because without getting into the writing it's difficult to implement SEO. without understanding enough about SEO it's difficult to be efficient with our writing.

Have you seen any of Partha's (ParthaB) posts? If you haven't I think they're well worth reading. He has much experience and a knack for communicating a useful balance between writing for people and writing for Google.
:-)
Richard

Always much to learn and put into practice.
I’ll check out his posts
Thanks so much.

Enjoy. They’re fun as well as useful.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can definitely relate and understand how it feels when you first start your journey. The dominion effect is a good name.

It does take a while to feel you can go for it. It’s a good feeling. Confidence comes in time. Thanks for your reply
