I have been searching since yesterday for a free picture to use for one of my blog posts. I finally found one today on Google when I did an image search under usage rights. But

You can take pictures yourself and use them on your website but always make sure when you are searching for pics that they are free to use and don't require permission. If they do , do a little research and find out who you can get permission from before you use it.

I use my own pictures as much as I can. But often I need pictures I can't do on my own. I'm not a professional photographer. But I am very careful to only use free pictures and use attribution when it is required. Thank you for your help. :)

Send an email to the website concerned and ask for their permission. If they say "yes" in a reply email then you can use the image. If they don't respond or they say "no" then you can't use the image.

I found another picture to use but I will certainly remember your advice in the future. Thanks.

Have you tried with Unsplash or Pexels?

No I didn't know about those. I'll check those out. Thank you.

You're welcome!

It takes me forever to write one blog post. I worked eight or nine hours today and I'm still not finished with the one I'm working on. Sometimes I can finish one in one day but

Writing a post takes as long as it takes. Quality is most important. Not everyone is a natural writer. However long it takes you is exactly the right amount of time. Don't compare yourself to others - there are always people who are faster and slower.

The final project always takes time. I think it's easier nowadays with WA's Site Content cause you can get photos so much easier, but it always took me a good amount of time, especially when I first started.

One fun assignment in bootcamp you might want to take is a speed writing class. I wrote a post from it that took 30 minutes to write, but the final edit took like 9 hours. But this post has been bring 2,000 to 7,000 visitors per month to my site for almost 4 years now.

Don't worry, it will get faster with time!

Todd

Thank you. I finally finished that post! It was a bear to work on but I'm pretty happy with it now. And I have written about 800 words so far for another one. This one is much easier because I am talking about something I know well and very little research has been needed. But I'm taking a break from it for the day. I'll finish it and publish it tomorrow. I'm worn out and I don't want the quality of my writing to suffer. Thank you for your help! I'll check out that link.

I think you are doing a thorough job. The way I do it is as follows. I am on a schedule of 3 posts a week, I take 2 days for one post. Not whole days but during two days. It is important to make a schedule and then stick to it.
I guess my contents research takes about two hours, title and headlines in framework 1 hour, keyword research half an hour. Writing takes about two hours, then I will work on it off and on as I go back to the text I find mistakes and put in new ideas. Usually within two days I have what I want and publish.
In the beginning I struggled myself, but as you go along you will find some flow, gaining experience and more knowledge. There are those of us who can write one post per day, but WA advises that 2-3 a week is ok.

That is a great schedule, it does take a long time to do the research and a lot of thought into the wording and writing of the blog.you gave good advice. Keep it up.

Thank you. That makes me feel a lot better. I also think it depends on what the post is about. I wrote one the other day in a few hours but I used my own pictures. It takes a long time to find just the right pictures that are also free to use! Thank you for your great advice.

Last year when I was paying for premium membership I was getting an additional $3.00 charge for "EFT Fee/International Tran" every month on top of my regular payment. I had so

Uh... i never saw those 3$ charges...
Best ask support

I don't know how to ask support. I was told to go to site support, which I did and that led me here.

Go to siterubix on the left (1)
Click sitecontent (2)

Try to pay through paypall...

I may just do that. Thank you for your help.

Hi Barbra,

The fees charged here are in US funds, so any converting that your credit card does is automatically charged to your credit card and NOT charged by WA.

EFT Fee/International Tran = Electronic Funds Transfer / International Money Transfer.

Being a Canadian, I get charged the same sort of fee, and I prefer to use PayPal (who also charges for conversion) as they protect my credit card for me.

Hope this helps you.

I live in Texas so that should not even be an issue. This is very upsetting.

"Electronic Funds Transfer" sounds like you might have paid directly out of your account, in which case that would be your bank charging you for the eTransfer.

Contacting Carson or Kyle using a private message will be your best bet in getting this resolved.

When selecting an option to contact either of them, be sure the communication clearly states: Contact Kyle or Carson, else you will be right back posting your question in a Classroom. (see screen print below...)

SiteSupport is strictly for websites hosted with WA.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you for your help.
