Yes WP spamshield is the problem and with recent changes to the WA site we no longer need that plugin. See this thread:-

I got that too. I've deactivated Wp Spamshield for the time being and comments can go through.

That's a lot better than what you'll get if you try to leave a comment on my website.
If you hit Post Comment, all you get is a white page.
I get no comments and it's been like that for five days.
Support tells me they're working on it.
But, don't even think about trying to leave a comment.

I posted one possible cause the other day If you aren't using the commentluv plug-in it is still likely a plug-in issue.

A lot of us have had the same thing happen, wonder if it's a glitch in the system while they are updating the dashboard :)

It was weird. I had the same thing happen. When I opened my dashboard and looked into the "comments" section. I didn't change a thing.
I went back to my site incognito (like I did before) and it worked. I'm not sure what happened, but it corrected itself.

mine hasn't corrected itself...been 2 days now

You might want to put in a repair ticket to the help desk.

Do we have to download a different anti-spam plugin to fix this problem? Everything was working fine up to a week ago and I haven't put any new plugins on my site.

Here are some answers to this, it seems it has to do with the Spamfield plugin

thanks, Loes, I'll look into that

what do you mean, you "exit"?

It happens to me too every now and then in other places too. I have cookies set on all three browsers I have and still get it. Then I exit and go back in and no problem.

I am going to be helping a friend build her site. Not sure how to log into her website, tho?? She added me as a contributor, but now what?

As a contributor, I believe she would have to provide the login information that you will need to access through WordPress.

website.com/wp-admin and then you et the form and have to add admin or name and password

:) thanks!!

Nope, the search engines will revisit and auto-update.

Thanks

cool! thanks!!

I changed a title of a page, a month ago. Why is Google still showing the original title, but not the new one? I have submitted a new site map since then.

Never mind.. I checked out the All in on SEO features. I hadn't changed the title in there. I changed the word virgin to first. I didn't want to attract the wrong kind of attention for a " Virgin adventure" Bounce rate on that page was bad..

yes, I just finished changing all my SEO titles and tags, too! Don't forget your tags!

Wanting some feedback on how some of you go about identifying your audience or readers within your particular niche?

...how's this for an answer: First, ask y

Very informative, more to my wife's liking but Informative. Thank you.
My audience is a majority of baby boomers like myself.
Rich

My niche is in the self defense area. And I pretty much target specific people and items using my keywords as posts. I'm still new to this but that is my starting point and then I'll move to social networks and forums that are related to my niche to expand my targeting.

Kind Regards
Caleb

I'm still stuck at that point hun but you can look at you tube for assistance.it's what I do. however I took a break from the computer.

I agree. It's information overload or maybe Im getting old.lol

I sorta answered my own question...see my updated question

If they post their photos, I can tell just by looking at them. My niche is Baby Boomers. :-)

perfect

Interesting. I think maybe Facebook groups or other online groups you could find. Idk. My niche is blogging tips so I have connected with a few groups but havent really targeted them. Maybe your keywords are the way to target specific audiences? Good question wish I knew more.

I've had my website up for 6 wks, now, and am seeing around 175 to 200 active visitors now. Is that a reasonable number? Just wondering if I'm doing what I'm supposed to be d

That's pretty good for 6 weeks. I wish mine is like that too LOL Good Job!

thanks!

Keep with it. You're actually doing great for six weeks in.

Thanks, just wasn't sure what to expect.

Thank you!

I think you're doing great. You can increase your presence by having a Google plus account and putting every one of your posts out there. My posts show up immediately on google when I post public on Google Plus.

Yes, I've been doing that as well

Use your analytics account to investigae where they are coming from and check bounce rate. Hopefully they are all organic traffic but could be spam traffic sources.
I'm hoping it's organic as that's brilliant after 6 weeks

I looked. . Im still having trouble deciphering the info there. I'll get it!

awesome! what's the address of your site?

Are you talking about 175-200 visitors per week? Because so that is pretty good. Which sites are you using by the way, and do you have a large following on all of these accounts? Because you should implement growing your social media platforms as one of your strategies throughout the week. I am going to be creating training here on how to grow some of the most popular, including Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and Linkedin. I can't stand Facebook. I may add Google +, but I don't really use that one too much either. Stay tuned for my training, and I would like to know which social media accounts you are using and your specific tactics if you don't mind sharing. If you don't want to share them here then in a PM will do :)

Thanx, but no, that # is for a month. I didn't clarify that, sorry. I'm uskng the fab 4: Facebook, pinterest, google+ and twitter.

That's great. I don't get that many visitors. Do you know where they are coming from? Like how they are finding your site?

Um still trying to figure that out

Do you have your analytics setup? It will tell exactly where they are coming from. So will http://wordpress.com, but I believe you have to install the jet pack plug in from wordpress

If that is a daily number, then you are off to a great start.

No, i should have clarified, that's a monthly number.

You're still off to a good start. Took me longer than six weeks to get that much traffic.

Thanks

ummm I'm not sure how to find that out.

Have you set up a Google Analytics account. A lot of great information there about volume, duration, demographics, etc.

By the way, if that is organic traffic you are off to a great start!

Yes, i have that. Just not sure what it all means yet. Lol

Where are your visitors coming from?

there are Organic visitors, social, visitors, referrals and direct so it is a combination - right even a low volume has a mixture
