I'm 1 hour north of Fort MacMurray in a work camp. We are at present housing evacuees. I am stranded here until we can secure land and air transport.

1600 buildings were lost yesterday and mor communities are threatened. It's not pretty.

Wish and pray for all involved to come out safely

I am in Calgary - so OK. In Fort McMurray the wind keeps changing direction - thousands were evacuated to one location - the wind changed direction and they all had to be moved on. The fire is unexpectedly jumping rivers and open spaces.

A very scary situation, however, the system is working and people are being kept safe.

I only wish some technologies hadn't been abandoned so soon, I suspect firefighting would be somewhat easier by now......

I know - it's so awful. Hope everyone is alright. I know it's a case of saving lives not possessions but it must be devastating to lose everything you own.

I wish them all safety and that the fire stops soonest.
