Good morning everyone, well most everyone, howdy neighbors across the pond :) Read an interesting article and wanted to pass it along. Seems like everything can be drilled down to

Thanks for sharing this with us

That is interesting reading thank you for sharing

Seems like we could spend all of our time just analyzing and sharing on various social sites

The more I learn the more I realize I don't know. You are quite right though, we could spend all of our time just drilling down one thing we learn. I compare it to a golf swing, there are a million things to think about but if we focus on just one thing we don't execute very well.

Interesting news, thanks for sharing.

You are welcome. Hope you get something from it.

I think it is a matter of testing, what works for you may not work for other.

The rich snippet tool shows me set up but I have these errors and unable to find how to correct. Error: Missing required field "updated". Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!

great you got good answers :)

see boomergp08 has given you good advice and guidance to resolve it hope it all works out

Like nathaniell said, "If your picture is showing, you are OK."

Don't worry about those errors they have to do with the theme you chose and there is nothing you can do about them. They do not effect whether your picture will show up in search results or not.

As for your picture showing up in Google search results, Google says that it could take up to a few weeks if it even shows up at all. Starting at the end of last year Google stopped giving images to everyone who signed up for authorship. There are now 3 classes of authorship. Class 1 has the picture and classes 2 & 3 do not have the picture.

I wrote a blog about the new Google Authorship classes here. - https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/boomergp08/blog/google-authorship-where-the-heck-is-my-picture

Thank you for the reply, reading the training now too.

You're welcome.

Are you ok Yet? Did it work for you?

If your picture is showing, you are OK. These errors are issues with the theme, most likely because it's a free theme. It's not a big deal, and won't affect your website or authorship.

My picture is showing in the snippet tool, it's been a while since I finished the process, i read the disclaimer about Google not showing the pic if it isn't relevant but if that's not the case about how long cold I expect to wait? Thanks for reply.

Try to go back through the course go Google authorship, step-by-step, and get back if you still have the same errors.

I am trying to set up my theme to have more than one posts page. Is this a theme dependent option or is there a setting or widget that would allow this to happen?

I have my home page which is blog roll and for other aspects i.e. how to plan a wedding have different cats, so they can click, just like Annie says and it works fine that way

Why not just place your categories in your menu. Then you can have your different blogs within each category. When a visitor clicks on that category, they are then taken to that "blogroll page" of all the related posts. Is that what you mean?

Thought about that but was hoping to avoid page editing, would prefer to blog post :)

When you assign a category to each blog it is automatically filed within that category. So when you create a page title for say small dogs, you don't need to write anything else on that page. You place that category link indented under the page named small dogs, within the menu tab on the WP sidebar. The attached blogs to that category (small dogs) dogs are then automatically linked and will show up when someone clicks on the small dogs page on your menu bar.

Other than that I think you may be getting into sub domains as teacup below has mentioned. They are perhaps not the best way to go. Add on domains I believe are better. But I can't guide you through either. I'm not confident enough to do so.

Watching a video is the only way to learn about using them in my opinion. Sorry if unable to help. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I am not sure how subdomains work on WA hosting but on normal hosting you could place your second blog on a subdomain and provide a link to it in the sidebar of your main site. Just took a peek and it would be simple to do here. Just copy your settings of the main site so everything will look the same.

You can put a link to your widget anytime to link it to your subdomain page. Your question will be answered on this blog i have. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/cybridge/blog

You can see if you have any blog "page templates" https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/change-the-look-of-your-pages-with-page-templates

Or you can make use of categories, and just have one category be a "catch all", like "blog posts", then when someone clicks that category, they will see all blog posts.

I'll check my theme then look for other themes if needed. If anyone already knows about a them that allows page attributes to change let me know :)

Hi Nathaniell,
I don't have page attributes, is this a widget that has to added?
thanks

Thanks bap,
Ive been struggling with this very same issue today, I went to you tube and looked around, even tried putting in the "continue" but that isn't working either.

HI I think it'll depend on the theme. What I can imagine is that you want a few blog that readers can read and scroll down the page. Yes you've got to look for a simple theme (Pilcrow, Neat,e tc) where you can post one blog and it'll show the date for each one. HOpe that helps.

WP offers only 2 choices as starting page

1 Static Homepage
2. Blog Roll

I think it's not possible to have 2 different landing pages. How would a visitor choose where to land?
John

Home landing page and another page in menu that would be Daily Blog is what I had imagined but I see what you mean.

So my idea is this, have a blog roll that talks about top 10 healthiest foods, recipes and updates from the medical and health community. Second blog roll would track my daily activities and add daily tips for a healthier lifestyle.

Are you talking about a second blog roll?
John

Yes I am, thank you for helping me clarify.

2 blog rolls

Which one would show up on your home page and where would you find the other one.

I like the idea but I don't know how you can implement it.

Let me start by saying I have the same plugins on both sites. Okay, in my widget control area on one site I can add and edit from within the widget and the other website only allow

Yes I Think that widgets interact differently with different Themes ask the theme publishers help line .

Ray Bowley ( Merryman88 )

My guess is, it's all dependent on the theme itself.

Sometimes widgets can conflict with themes. Try uninstalling, then reinstalling, or changing the theme and see how that does.

Hey there, thanks. I was able to find what I was looking for in the screen options setting. Little obscure tab at the top right of a page. Accessibility function was what I was looking for.

see you got your answer best of luck with it all

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for input, found what I was looking for under screen options and accessibility. It allows for the Add and Edit buttons next to widgets.

Widget from your website is draggable only, but can't be reposition on a location you want because that is fixed. Widget from wordpress also is editable and draggable to any position you want.

Are you using the same theme?

Yes but great question! Let's always start with the obvious when we are trying to figure things out here. Save us all a lot of time and effort. But I did ensure that everything was the same on a side by side screen view. That is until I clicked on accessibility in screen options lol

that is good you found the answer. thanks for sharing

Are you editing Widget that is in "Inactive Area"?
