Current progress and plans going forward

OK, I've finally finished level 2 training here at WA. And to be honest, I got stuck on one of the last lessons for something like 2 weeks. I'll explain that whole situation and what I've learned from it in a minute but first let me just say that I'm really satisfied with the WA so far and I hope it only gets better down the road.

Now, a little about the situation that got me stuck for 2 weeks.

So far, I've been going through the WA training at a steady pace, a few lessons a day if not more. I already knew some of the stuff and what I didn't know wasn't that difficult to process. But the thing that allowed me to keep my focus on WA was the fact that I've been recovering from COVID and had a lot of free time on my hands.

However, as it always is with life, things change. As I described in my last post, the clock was ticking and I had to get another job soon and get back to work. This shifted my focus and all of a sudden WA training and my website weren't the one thing I kept thinking about.

Another thing that made those two weeks last as long as they did was the fact that the last topic I chose for my website's blog post was a bit more than I could chew. It really required good knowledge of my chosen niche (woodworking), and I'm really just an enthusiast.

Now, let's get to the two takeaways I have from this experience:

Takeaway #1

It's now even more obvious than before that I won't be able to keep my focus at my website and WA 100% of the time. Therefore, I'm working on a plan to help me provide enough attention to my website to allow it to grow while I handle other things that I need to take care of.

I'm still don't have a precise plan, but it will most likely have specific time allocated to my website on a weekly basis. I'd like to allocate some time on a daily basis, but I'm not sure if that will be possible.

Takeaway #2

As I've already talked about in my last post, I'm gonna get a 9-to-5 job again. Technically it will be a 10-to-6, but you know what I mean. :)
It turned out to be a lot better one than I expected to find but I'm still not thrilled about getting back to the daily grind thing.

However, I decided not to observe it as a burden but rather think about it as means to an end.

I don't expect any results from my website in at least 6 months, and don't expect it to generate any kind of steady income in at least 12 months. Therefore, my 10-to-6 job will provide me with enough time for my website to get some traction.

But not only that, it will actually give me the ability to save and invest into my website. Since I'm obviously not going to be able to work full time on my website, I'm considering hiring writers to write some of the blog posts (not all of them) for me. I also plan to hire some of the SEO experts, designers, professional woodworkers to review my content, etc.

In this way, I expect my website to start producing income sooner than if I was the only one involved.

Conclusion

This last month or so at WA has really given me a clear path to follow and that was exactly what I needed to finally get going with my affiliate/content marketing plans. While it was a bit of a sandbox thing and while the sandbox ends now, I think it's given me the push I needed.

Moving forward it's gonna get more difficult to maintain the momentum, but as the saying goes:

Branko
Sometimes we have to adjust due to current situations to keep on track. So good job for making the necessary amendments so that you can stick to your website but still deal with your 10 to 6. Looking forward to hearing more progress on your training. All the best.
Hugh

Hi Hugh,

I sure will be posting updates as I go.

Sweet.

Keep up the good work. Don't rush the training and you will get there.

Thanks Geoffrey!
