All of my comments on my website that I have replied to are listed as "Admin" and have no gravatar associatted with them. I made a gravatar account, and a picture shows up, but

Awsome! thanks for all the help everyone!

Usually, if your name appears as 'admin' against your comments it is because your username is 'admin'.

If this is the case, I recommend creating a new administrator level user account for yourself and deleting the one with the username 'admin'.

The new administrator account should have a username that is not obvious - i.e. not your name or your site's name.

This is more a security benefit than anything else: with 'admin' as your username the hackers already have half of the information they need to access your site with a Brute Force attack.

Happy to clarify anything if I need to!

Cheers,

Martin.

Yes you can. You need to change it in Wordpress. Go to users --> hoover over your admin picture until 'edit' shows up --> click 'edit' --> add your name to that page

Half way down your user page you'll see 'Display name publicly as' --> pick the one you want.

Kill it off so that your own named user is the single admin.

Hi - I can't see an easy way of doing this, other than clicking edit under each comment, and physically typing in your name. Hopefully, somebody will have a less time-consuming answer!

Can you change the comment posters name?

Hello, I initially started my website wanting to market electric guitar effects pedals, but I feel that it would be better to market other products under the electric guitar ni

no you can expand your niche at any point

Thanks for your reply. Since I have only been a member here for about a week, would you recommend me to do it now or later? I don't want to become to overwhelmed.

I think that if you're at least fairly knowledgeable about the products and their various brands, it would would be beneficial to expand out to include them in your niche. That way, you won't run out of topics or product reviews to write about any time soon.

After all, the primary consideration at the start is to build up good quality content to establish yourself as an authority.

If you do get overwhelmed with all the writing you'll be doing, you can always back off of that aspect for a while and take a breather. ☺

Good luck and welcome to the party!
Joe

Awesome! Thanks for your wisdom

everyone is different and you have to decide what is best for you. Some people work well while expanding and others get overwhelmed. If I were you I would write one article as an expansion and see how you go. If you come too far out of your comfort zone put on the backburner till later if not do it bit by bit

Will do. I appreciate your advice
