Just Bumpin Along
So here we are,the start of another day.........but for me its transition time as I start my four 12hr nights at 8pm and so will catch a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon in preparation for this. Time now to iron uniforms,polish shoes,water the plants,tidy the place up cause it wont be touched again until Saturday,and otherwise generally girth my loins for who knows what lies ahead this week. Am listening to American radio online as I write this, of which I have become an avid fan,and find I am better informed as to what freedom really is......and so much more. How this came about was pure accident and happened one night at work in the early hours of the morning,4am to be precise. I was tuning in my short wave radio looking for news stations as I like to get the viewpoint of a number of sources before I form an opinion when suddenly I picked up the American national anthem. Nothing unusual about that you might say,and rightly so,but this was not your big guns America blasting my ears off,this was faint and distant and difficult to tune in but I persevered. I tuned in again the following night,and the next,and on until the transmittion changed changed khz and I lost it. I had been listening to Dr Stan Monteith on the Genisis satellite system. I had taken note of his address in California,although I didnt quite get it right,wrote to him at this incorrect address and to my surprise it got there. He wrote back to me and enclosed a list of books,CD,s newsletter etc. I never did manage to pick him up again on short wave but bought a number of books,and that was it until some two years later I bought a computer and got access to the internet. From there ? well wasnt long before I found "Shoutcast" software....downloaded that....and there you go. Just bumpin along....see what I mean.
