A really interesting set of replies Rab.
I wondered the same thing, thanks for asking the question and thanks Haly and Diane for the replies.
I don't think I will be messing with the coding just yet either, Rab.

Thanks again for your fantastic help.

Hi Bux
Thanks to the questioner and the answers.
I recently needed to change the width of a popup that I use for a contact form in order to be mobile friendly. I googled the challenge and discovered that a little coding was the only way without buying a premium version of the plugin. So I backed up my site and experimented with suggested CSS (I have no real CSS knowledge yet).
By using the theme’s ’Additional CSS’ area permanent code changes are avoided. Re-publishing updates the formatted code... remember to publish! At one point I deleted my CSS, published, and all was back to the original. Re-tried, got it right then copied the CSS code into a text file for future reference. No backup was needed. Confidence boosted.
My ’Things To Do’ now includes ’learn CSS’.
Richard
It's on my To Learn list too Richard.
There is soooo much to learn here.
Keep going, the only way is forwards.
Bux
Thanks Haly,
Can you confirm I should paste this
.post-meta-bottom .post-tags { display: none; }
here
Appearance - Customize - Additional CSS
Cheers,
Rab
Yes, appearance - customize - additional CSS
But exactly how I put it, not in one line.
You will have 3 lines filled.
Hi - I'm not sure if that is possible unless you have the premium version of Generate Press. I only have the free version and can't see a way to do it. You may be able to do it by coding, but that's not something I'm familiar with.
Thanks Diane,
Yeah, sadly it looks like it's a 'pay to play' part of GeneratePress.
And as a complete newbie I'm not going anywhere near coding 😂Cheers,
Rab

I have put together a 3 part post on my site but am concerned about the title being the same for each of them. Basically, each post title starts with the same 4 words then has
Learn how I have prepared this turkey,
Learn how I have prepared this chicken,
Learn how I have prepared this beef.
I don't see that they'll be a problem if at the end they have a specific description. I think there are others who will have a mirrored copy of your blogs title but different story in them. All the best!
Wow, your question threw me off a bit.
A blog is the entire site. You have three blog posts which could have the same name.
Hi Jeannine,
Duly noted and edited accordingly, apologies for my newbieness 😁
All updated with the word post replacing blog.
Thanks,
Rab
No need to apologize! Lots of folks here do the same, so I thought perhaps if I clarified, lots of folks could learn.
Wishing you all the best always!
Jeannine
Hi Rab
I am doing similarly with a series thet isn’t complete (not posted yet).
My strategy:
Post names are
’abc: xyz part 1’
’def: xyz part 2’
’ghi: xyz part 3’
abc, def, and ghi are 3 different keywords that reflect the content of the relevant part.
In the first paragraph of each part I include suggestions to read the parts in order and links to each of the other 2 parts.
I do not know if this will be the best way but it solves the google challenge, including unique keywords and is user friendly.
Richard
Looks good to me Richard, similar to what Bux is suggesting.
Thanks to both of you I am now moving forward again.
Cheers,
Rab
Rab, mix in a few words that break it up. You want the readers to know part 1, 2, 3 and so on but just jiggle things up.
My blog part 1
Here is the glorious part 2
Part 3 is here, the long awaited finale
You get the idea.
Good luck
Bux
why not turn the titles around - pick keywords for each of the parts of the series and have 'keyword:part x of y series'
or as dale says add the part x oy y in th etext at the top - this will probably be shown in the serps so visitors will see it ...
you will compete against yourself - i did this as a 4 part 3d printer build - only one of the articles is still ranked.....
good luck
phil
Thanks Philip,
Will make a plan and get the titles changed. Will Google have to start all over and find them all again or how does it work?
Cheers,
Rab

I set up my website e-mail forwarding as per the training but I am not receiving my mail in my Yahoo account.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you fix it?</
Oh my! Am so sorry. Please forward a ticket to site support
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support
Would you consider having a Gmail account perhaps, works greater, however that's totally your choice.
For any email issues, you will need to contact SiteSupport, as they're the only ones with access to the servers to check the mail logs for you.
I've already done that but I'm no further forward hence the question here. Looking for someone who has had a similar experience forwarding to Yahoo
No worries, any particular reason why you're forwarding, rather than using an actual mailbox here? I have never had any issues with the full mailboxes.
Not sure I understand you?
My website e-mail is set up to forward to my Yahoo account because it's way more convenient for me. At least it would be if it actually worked!

Hi WA Family,
I asked this question on the 'Making Use of Visuals' training page but the response was underwhelming to say the least, only
There is when I’m doing my blog or post for my website I check at the top to view mode you can the view your post in phone or iPad or computer. When you are happy with it then I would publish.
You could also try watch some if jays past live events as well. I hope I have been helpful.
Hi Rab,
Great question, as I'm also learning from all the replies to your post!
Thanks for sharing!
GOOD LUCK and hope you'll find the right answer to your enquiry!

How do I find out?
I am a newbie and definitely not tech-savvy so you'll need to ask me simpler questions :)
Hi, check theme details in Appearance > Themes , and see description if it says responsive or not.
I'm using the basic theme I started with in WA - GeneratePress.
I'm in my back office but I can't find the info you are talking about?
Your theme is the one to go for and yes responsive, am just trying work out some settings, you site should look perfect imagery wise.
If you change theme you may lose design social media links however not your content i.e. pages posts.
I don't have any links set up yet, only my posts and the associated images (check my training progress - I haven't got to links yet) so I think now would be a good time to choose a better theme?
I need something that has the right appearance across desktop, tablet and smartphone.
Below tutorial goes over your settings, I just tried a fresh copy on a testing site, tested really large image sizes and they looked great in mobile Configuring The Free Version Of The GeneratePress Wordpress Theme
Also check these links How to change Wordpress themes. https://www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/best-wordpress-themes-for-affiliate-marketing/
I myself use the GeneratePress Premium, Divi theme / plugin and Elementor plugin.
"I myself use the GeneratePress Premium, Divi theme / plugin and Elementor plugin"
Another loud 'WHOOSH' as that went right over my head again :)
Hi Rab
I’m certain that AbieAJ are not wanting to confuse you and I hope my attempt to explain their message is useful:
- They use GeneratePress theme (as do you) but they use the paid for version which has more functionality. (I still use the free version myself).
- By now you probably know that plugins are like tiny apps that you can use to enhance your installation of WordPress (WP). There are many thousands available for free or a fee.
- Divi theme plugin adds additional website design features to the theme you have installed.
- Elementor plugin is an alternative post/page editor to the classic or block editors provided by WP.
I think that what AbieAJ are saying to you is that because they use these plugins, then their view of he world will be a little different to yours at this stage.
If you work your way through the training you will be amazed at how much you learn over just a few weeks. I have been here since end of July. This is not bragging... just pointing out the possibiIity... I’m sure I’m not the fastest out of the blocks but I’ve have built 2 websites (not much content on them yet though) that are both attracting some traffic already. It took me some weeks to begin to understand the power of the WA environment. I hope you find the same (I mean the power :-).
Now, if you realky are as new as you say to this environment I recommend going on a clicking spree (if you haven't already) first within WA then in WP.
If you ever want to reach out personally please feel free to contact me with. PM... at the envelope top right.
Best wishes
Richard
Thanks very much Richard,
I really appreciate your input.
I have just finished updating my last website post with block editor.
Been a lot of trial and error but I got there in the end.
I was going to say I have wasted my whole day on this but that would be an exremely poor choice of words, not to mention, the wrong attitude. Alternatively, I have learned a helluva lot today, just didn't get around to writing my next post :)
Anyway, thanks again, I'm sure I will be 'picking the WA brains' again very soon.
On to the next challenge.
Rab
Hi Rab... Glad to hear you're making progress. It’s great to hear you’ve learned so much today. It’ll be exciting when you do write your first post!!
There may be days when you feel you’ve made little or no progress. I’ve certainly had such days, sometimes several in a row. Those are the days when the ’persistent entrepreneur’ part inside needs to be let loose. He (or she) knows that never giving up always wins through.
Now as a Scotsman I reckon you’ve got a lot to live up to. Robert de Bruce did get some bad press, but when I was at school, nearly 60 years ago, in England believe it or not, he was one of my heroes for teaching the World about persistence after he learned its value from a spider (as I’m sure you know). As an Englishman and ex-rugby player I always believed that a wee part of every Scotsman is akin to Robert de Bruce. :-).
Richard
Ha ha, the spider tale. I wish I had 8 hands right now:)
My Grandmother was a Bruce so hopefully I have some of that steely determination in me too.
I have actually done a few posts so my website is up and running, just wanted to make sure it looks okay on all mediums.
Thanks again for all the advice and encouragement, god knows I need a plentiful supply of both. And I'm delighted to have someone with your experience to turn to.
Cheers,
Rab
