I upgraded my theme and now I have white space on profile page and other dashboard pages. How do I fix this?
Thank you so much for your response Tommy. However, I know how to add/delete spaces on posts. My situation is if you go to dashboard, click on users then profile the page is white/blank totally on screen until you scroll down and I see my user id etc.I get the sense that I am missing information on those pages. I've look for answers on WP. This was after doing both plugin and theme updates.
I have not had this experience before either, but I would try what Marty suggested because that will work, or wait for another suggestion.

I'm not totally proficient with this myself but if It is at the bottom or top you may try command enter or command delete. There are formating
buttons at the top of your editer that can move things around. You can also add an image to an open space.
That is some things I try, to get things situated. I hope you get some more knowledgable replies.

Hi I spent the better part of this morning working on this and I managed to get it fixed by installing a google analytics plugin for the tracking snippet and I also fixed it with Webmaster tools and GA. So all is well! Thanks for responding. Angela
Glad to hear you have resolved the issue Angela. Do make sure that your www site redirects to you non-www. You definitely don't want Google to index both... having all your visitors bounce automatically to the same landing page will make it much easier for you to make sense of your Google Analytics data in the future.
Yes I made sure that google and webmaster tools know that my primary is non-www. I also only use the non-www in my posts. Will keep on eye on it. I was unable to do the .htaccess since I don't have any idea what language that is. I only speak Spanish and English....lol
Technically www.example.com and example.com are two different websites with "www" being a subdomain. Basically, you need to pick which one will be your primary site. In doing so you need to do a few things:
1) Make sure all your permalinks and internal page links are consistent.
2) Log into Google Webmaster's tools and specify which one is primary.
3) Setup a 301 redirect in your .htaccess file so that www.example.com points to example.com (or vice versa)

You'll need FTP to access and modify your .htaccess file... if you need help, just pm me.

I was sent an article this morning about how easy it is to get sued and for large amounts of money. How do we protect ourselves/be compliant? Can anyone please elaborate?
I know this post is a little old, but I came across it in my research for a lecture on legal risk for affiliates. I note the comment about being "very careful to use images from sites recommended here at WA." It is easy to use web search engines to find an image that one thinks is commercially "free to use and share." However, you are well advised to confirm the license and get permission form the author. I know ti used to be that content markers often asked for forgiveness rather than permission. These days, taking that approach is a recipe for a copyright lawsuit.
As usual, Steve (steveo5770) has given an excellent response. Check that you are in compliance with copyright laws, don't copy and paste, be sure that you mention "in my opinion" and only use images that are your own, "open source" or "free for commercial use / no attribution required". ~Marion

Don't make false claims about what a product can do and don't slander the creators of products. Also, don't use images that you don't have permission to use (if permission is required) Put an affiliate disclaimer on your site for extra "insurance" if you like.

I had a company hire a lawyer to try to get my site taken down once for a bad review but in the end, they lost. You cannot be persecuted for your opinion. At least not at the moment!......lol
That's good to know. The article I read this morning sited cases of large money lawsuits...kind of scary. However, I realize that the guy who sent the article is an affiliate selling some kind of insurance. Nevertheless, we need to be vigilant with what we put on our sites. Glad you prevailed in your situation and your site wasn't taken down. Take care....

Hi, I pick out what Kim says as a good example and add to that my own method. My niche is something I know inside out. New products are reviewed by people I know. They use them, I ask for a 5 line summary and then hit online to compare. I do a fair amount of them myself as it is my passion. If you know your subject use friends and family and extend into forums. You make contacts that way.
I also note what Starryzero says, you have to be sure that you can review honestly, where he and I differ is I think you don't have to get hands on with every new thing, so long as you know someone you trust who has.

Well you should have some basic understanding of your niche in the first place that is most helpful on choosing your niche. Next you can look at multiple customer reviews as well as professional reviews and do some comparisons. See what the manufacturer has to say about it. My niche is laptops and all things electronics which helps out with getting hands on because I can go to my local tech store and try them out, and interview the geeks on the floor of what they think.
Those are just a few idea's for you.

Yes Carla. For instance I know lots more about WA and I did a review. But, to review other affiliate marketing companies I have no experience with is harder. I see what you are saying. I can pick a company and and look up other reviews online and then do my review of same company - right?
Yes, exactly. In your own words, of course. When you Google the name of the program, put "scam" after it (without the quote marks). You'll know immediately if it's a scam. People are NOT quiet when they've been screwed. If it looks like a scam, read 4 or 5 reviews to figure out why people think that. And then look for a good review or two. I was taught you should always have at least ONE pro against as many cons as you need. Good Luck!
