Writing Great Website Content
Many who first start out with a website of their own struggle with writing great website content. Most times people over think the process, when it is quite simple to do. Can you navigate a live chat, hold a conversation with a friend or family member, and/or write an email? If you answered yes then you can write content. So what exactly is content?
Content is basically the same thing as you sitting down with some friends that you know and engaging in a conversation with them on a topic that you know so much about. Let’s say you know how the game of baseball is meant to be played. You know the rules, you know the techniques, you know the stats, and you know the terminology. Basically you know a lot about baseball. Now you sit down with your friends who don’t know much about baseball and you explain it to them.
DON’T SPEAK IT – TYPE IT
Writing content is the same thing, except instead of speaking it you are typing it out. That’s it! Nothing special. You are taking a topic or niche that you know so much about and you are answering the questions that people may have on that niche by way of written content. This is why it is extremely important that you pick a niche that you know so much about. However too many people are always trying to write their content so the search engines will take notice and will put all kinds of keywords into their content and thus make their content read like a spam-laden promotion.
When you write content you need to forget about writing quality content for Google and just focus on writing quality content for your readers. Your content is for your readers and no one else, PERIOD! When you lose sight of this you will more likely lose any chance of getting good rankings. Your content needs to be informational, engaging and shows a little personality. Don’t try to be perfect when you first start writing it because no one is. Just keep writing and the more you do it the better you will become at it. It’s like riding a bicycle.
CONTENT IS KING
When people come to your website and become intrigued and informed by what you have written they will want to keep coming back and learning what you have to offer them. This is one big way to get more website traffic. When you write content that is informative and helps your readers with whatever problem or answers they are looking for, they will come back for more and/or share your content which can lead to more traffic and the more traffic you have the better your chances of converting that traffic into sales. This is why “Content is King.”
So are you still wondering how to write quality content? If you can write a blog post similar to the one you are reading here, then you will have no problem writing content. This entire blog post is content and though you may have already figured out one of my targeted keywords for this post, I actually have “naturally” placed 3 more keywords within this content. Even the ones I didn’t knowingly place in my content are in here as well and Google will rank me on them too.
So when it comes time to write your content just write about the things you passionately know about your niche. Do it with some personality, be engaging, and offer the information your readers need to know. Remember, your content is for your readers benefit only and not for Google and the search engines. – Happy Writing!
