Here is a reply I wrote to a comment below on what I researched:
[Actually, I did some searching last night after work, and I think it has something to do with what under the law is referred to as "trade secrets."
These are proprietary information that a business does not disclose because it gives them an "economic edge." Something that they do that they don't want their competitors to know about.
Apparently, with the new fuss about privacy laws, there is some question about businesses having to disclose things like this that they want to keep "secret."
I guess that's why some website owners have a clause for it, because they do things with their site data that they don't want competitors to know about.
In fact, @Loes in her comment was probably close to the answer as to what the "secrets" are.
