I was looking at the privacy policy on a website and came across the section below. What exactly does "secrets" refer to? I've never seen this before:

"Secrets
We reserve the right to insert and obfuscate secrets within the content of this site.

You may submit any questions you may have about our security procedures by emailing us at...
"

Update: I found this on another website, too. So it isn't a one-off.

Another Update:

Here is a reply I wrote to a comment below on what I researched:

[Actually, I did some searching last night after work, and I think it has something to do with what under the law is referred to as "trade secrets."

These are proprietary information that a business does not disclose because it gives them an "economic edge." Something that they do that they don't want their competitors to know about.

Apparently, with the new fuss about privacy laws, there is some question about businesses having to disclose things like this that they want to keep "secret."

I guess that's why some website owners have a clause for it, because they do things with their site data that they don't want competitors to know about.

In fact, @Loes in her comment was probably close to the answer as to what the "secrets" are.

This is my best guess from what I researched. :-)]

Sounds like an attempt to have visitors spend more time on the site looking for "secrets."

I have never seen anything like this before so I don't know what to tell you to do. Is this one of our sites on WA? Because we don't have secrets in our privacy policy.

No, it's not included in the WA policy template, which is why I'm curious as to what it means.

I actually do think this site belongs to a WA member, but I'm not positive about that. I didn't revel it because I don't know if they wanted that.

No, I don't actually need to do anything, I'm just being terribly curious about what exactly "secrets" refers to. Lol

I know...lol.
I don't have a clue what the "secrets" refer to. And, of course, the curiosity is killing me. haha
I'm sure it's probably something very technical that I probably wouldn't understand anyway. lol
