Hi Everyone

I've published 5 posts via Site Content this week and have not been able to find my images in my Wordpress Media Library.

They appear in the post itself but not in my media library. For each post, I've had to go back and manually upload the images, which means they are not being automatically compressed via Site Content.

Usually, my process after publishing via Site Content is to:

1. Take the first image in the post and use it as the featured image. Then I delete it from the post.

2. My 2nd image is usually a Pinterest pin. I've learned that, using Site Content to publish, I have to delete the pin in the post and add it after publishing in order to change the Alt Text so that it works as a Rich pin on Pinterest.

This was simple when I could just access it in my library but this week I've had to upload my images manually after publishing. Extra work and extra smushing required.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Anyone know the fix? I've asked Site Support and they said to ask the community or Kyle and Carson.

All the best

Lauren

I am having the same problem also. I am missing a bunch of pictures that I had previously uploaded and are in my posts. I went back because I realized I missed a bunch of featured pictures. When I went to put in, they were no longer there.

Thanks for confirming Marla. I'll be using Trish's method (see her response below) from now on.

I know what you mean Lauren.

When I found this out, I add images that I don't care for showing up in Google through SiteContent (because I think it might increase site speed this way), but the featured images + other unique images that'll stand out in Google images, I just add manually once I publish.

Basically taking advantage of it the way I can lol (well, if images that are published through SiteContent really do help with site speed since they are not in the media library).

Do I make sense here?

Thanks a million Trish. I've never dragged images across before to upload. Looks so much simpler, I'll try that. And great idea to upload images before I publish my post so I can add them speedily. Thanks. You're a Star.

If you see your images on your website then they HAVE to be in your Media Library. All you need to do is try refreshing your browser... and if that does not work, contact SiteSupport.

as I'm sure you will discover that you MAY have several copies of the same image uploaded.

SiteSupport showed me this issue awhile ago now and I finally figured out the fact that refreshing my browser would show me the image was in fact added to my Media Library.

Like I said in the video, it most likely has something to do with the security scripts on the server... and I'd sooner have this little inconvenience and great security than to ever sacrifice security. :-))
