I've got a blog post waiting to be published over at SA. I'm not posting it as the dot point formatting I've done, when in the open blog window at SA, is not showing in the preview of it. I wrote directly into the SA blog window, dot point content, a couple of lines each long. I did not copy paste into the SA blog space as I was trying to avoid formatting dramas. Example of how I wrote in SA -

  • I am
  • You are
  • He is

When I hit the blue preview button at SA, the dot points disappear and they show as a normal paragraph. What should be a new dot point simply starts on a new line with no spacing in between.

I've sent a message via "contact" at SA, but not had a reply.

Can anyone tell me if the formatting will self correct at the time of publishing? Any other advise is welcome. Otherwise it's going to look silly.

Don't know but you can edit...I write mine for sa with the "rapid writer" and it always comes out just as I write it, so far no problems.

You can easily edit it after publishing as already suggested.

I never type directly into SA - but I always put the bullet points in from SA and I've never had a problem. I'd be surprised if you do get a reply - I never have!

Umm Bis, I never got a reply at SA from a question about 6 months ago :) I don't know who or if there is support there. Is SA just for WA'ers?

Not Annie it's not just for WAs but I honestly have never had a reply, so I gave up years ago. Tend to just grab Kyle when he's in chat.

I just checked one of mine and the dots (bullets) are showing. If I recall, I typed it into Word and then pasted it into SA. You can publish it and go back to edit again if you have to change it.

Hi Rick, I thought when it was published any chance of an edit or whatever was zilch! Wonder how I'd get dot point added in. BTW, I thought word was hopeless for copy paste due to some coding in the formatting. Obviously not, or you wouldn't be using it. I'd have used notepad and copy/pasted but I just thought there wouldn't be any problems as my other SA was ok. Thx for reply.

Look at your dashboard. There is an edit option if you have something published already. I use Google docs now but when I wrote on SA I used Word.
