Hi,
I am in the middle of writing a review called "What are the best toys for Australian Cattle Dogs". Right now, Amazon is the only place that I am an affiliate of that carries a lot of toys for dogs. I had planned to compare similar products from Amazon with a similar product in the other store I am an affiliate of.
Unfortunately, the other store doesn't carry the toys I want to review. Is it an acceptable format to select 5 of the best products for cattle dogs and just review those 5 products and why they are good for cattle dogs or do I have to select 2 products that are the same type of product and compare them with each other and suggest the best one? Would this be a better way to do the buyer guide than just reviewing 5 of the best toys for Australian cattle dogs?
I would like your honest opinion of what format of this buyer guide would provide the most value. I have only written 3 buyer guides so far and 2 of them just described 3 to 5 completely different products.
I hope this makes sense, I really want this to be a good product review and provide value.
Thanks so much for your help!
Barbara
Presenting the Product group can include how they work, what they do, what are their benefits vs another product group, .what makes them different, what you think about them, and then comparing your selected products Pros and Cons and then giving a conclusion.
So, why not a best toy for a specific need rather than 5 random toys?
So, the best chew toy, the best puzzle toy, the best tug toy etc.
And that way, you will also cover more keywords, if somebody is searching specifically for a chew toy for Australian cattle dogs, for example.
Don't forget to go in-depth and make it a review, not just a product description.

I'm often suspicious of one-on-one comparisons unless I completely trust the reviewer, perhaps from past experience. I don't trust the comparisons to be unbiased.
So as I consumer I like to see reviews that compare more than 2 products (if there are more than 2 products to consider) especially if the products are diverse, as some might be for dog toys. I do like to see a pros and cons list that doesn't directly compare the products.
