When I am doing my research, I sometimes use multiple resources within my post. I often cite these resources as an external link within my post. I just noticed today while working on a post of mine the URL the address of the external link is saying not a secure site. For example, one source I am using is "educationworld.com". I know it is a popular and often used site. My website is secure, but not the external link I want to use. It is still okay to use these within my posts as external links without causing problems?

That site is okay when I opened it. Maybe there's something you needed to do or you may ask the Site Support to see why it appears unsecured in your site.

Hi accad,
I contacted SiteSupport and it looks like I am okay to move forward. Support stated it shouldn't cause any problems.
I did check out that website. From the comments I read, it didn't sound like it helped anyone very much.
I think I am going to past on using that website.
Thanks for helping. johnny

Hi Johnny, I used three different browsers to check that link and none of them came up with any issues. What do you use as your browser

Hi lesabre, I use chrome and explorer. I put the images of the URL address of both. Chrome has the circle with the "i" in the middle, while explorer has the same thing, but by the side it has "not secure".
I feel I am over thinking this. According to the reply from Sruffey, it would be okay to use on my post as long as I am not putting personal info on that website.
Thanks everybody for your help.

Hi Johnny, just copied "educationworld.com" without the hyphens into Chrome and it comes up the same as yesterday. No issues. I do not thing there is a problem with the site, unfortunately I do not know why you are not getting similar results. I see accad tried it too so did Diane. Perhaps shooting a Site Support ticket may be your best bet. Something does not add up. I would not want anything to mess with your site. Therefore I am hesitant just to say go ahead. All the best. keep in touch.

Good question, if want to know the site's info hover over where it says it is not secure. I wouldn't put any of my personal information on the site. I don't think that means that it has anything that would hurt you or your site. Just means that you should not put your information on the site. You have virus protection on you computer it would tell you if the site was harmful. It could put cookies on your computer and track your searches. Please like my comments, thanks Sruffey.
