Different affiliate banners on a page? I noticed some websites have banners that don't even pertain to there niche. I know we are here to make money, but am not sure if I should do this.

What are your thoughts and do you practice this?

I do not totally agree that an unrelated banner is a bad thing.I was browsing a website from a member here yesterday and I think it was about promoting WA,anyway I thought it was very interesting and as I walked my way through the page I stumbled on ninentendo banner. It turn,s out it was a google adsense but it is at this time that I am thinking of buying wii U for the sole purpose of the new Zelda game being released in September sometime. You see so my point is it can jog people,s memory that you are looking for something else or it can give somebody a surprise to what is on your site.

That is interesting. I guess it could work to your advantage also. I guess you just have to decide for yourself. Thanks for your input Tom

Your welcome Zora.Did you know the game I am talking about has a character in it called Zora, she is one of the fish people in the ice kingdom. That by the way is merely an observation and in no way is it an insult to you,you in your picture actually look that you have a sunny disposition and not a cold one.

No way Tom. I did not know that. No offense taken. I use to play a lot of video games, but no time now. An occasional one on my phone. I do have a sunny disposition as I live in Arizona :)

We are advised to have no more than 3 links per page and relevant adverts

Thanks KatieMac. The links to me are not that much of an issue, unless you whole page is blue (ha,ha). It is just the over usage of banners that I had a question about. And the question of the banner being relevant to your niche.

A lot of ad networks track your browsing history and show ads that are specifically tailored to you. So the content of the ads may not match the content of the site, but the content of the ads may be designed for you specifically.

I didn't think about that tracking thing. Still learning. Thanks for the reply.

People come to your website to buy products and services related to your niche. To have something else unrelated is not good.

I agree Lemm. I am not sure why people do it though. $$$ I guess.. Thanks Lemm

I agree that it looks a little strange. Multiple affiliate offers within the same niche is fine but non-related offers I would avoid on regular pages.
If you have a niche outside of affiliate marketing but still want an opportunity to promote WA, you could always mention that you learned to build your site through WA on your About Me page.
