Hi everyone, I am just changing some of my affiliate links from other platforms to monetize them with Skimlinks.

As you may know, with skim links, you don't have to use affiliate links, but you just put the code given by skim links to the head of your website, and your standard URL where you refer the reader to merchants are automatically monetized by Skim links.
I usually mark the affiliate links as sponsored in WordPress for Google. Now I wonder if I would characterise the standard URLs monetized by Skim links also as Sponsored as they are not affiliated links but standard URLs yet I can benefit from readers clicking the URL.

Thanks for any feedback,

Jude

Yes, you must disclose that the post contains affiliate links and if someone makes a purchase you may receive a commission.

Hi Jeannine, thanks fir your reply.

I do have that dusclosed as well in the beginning.

I was just wondering if I have to check the standard URLs as sponsored links in wordpress as well as they are regular URLs and not affiliate links. Yet they are monitized as a URL...

Based on the definition of skim links. "Skimlinks is a content monetization platform for online publishers (including editorial sites, forums, bloggers, social networks, and app developers)." they would need to be sponsored links.

Hi, thanks for your respond. Yes I would think so too. Probably I have to mark the URLs from Merchants they are working with as sponsored.

I just put the script in my website from Skim and had random urls i not previously was affiliated with, popping op with clicks in my dashbiard as they apear to be advertiser with Skimlink. I will have to go through my sites as more Urls may be as well.

Thanjs for your insight.

Jude
