Hope, you don't mind guys just a question that popped in my head whilst writing. Thought I would ask.
So just to elaborate can you copy and paste a couple of sentences from one post to another on the same domain without it being flagged for plagiarism?

I think you are Ok . Copying a sentence here and there will not cause any problems.
Of course it wouldn't hurt to change the content around a bit for your visitors.
I think what Google is on the lookout for is "scraping". This is the practice of copying a website and presenting it as your own. I've read stories of people who have had their websites scraped and then seeing the scraped version of their website ranking higher than the "real" site.
A solution to this problem is an RSS feed. I have to admit that I don't know much about RSS at the moment - am too busy building my basic website.
WA does provide info about RSS.
If you do go this route (RSS), I'd love to hear about your experience.

As others have said, yes anything you copy and paste is considered duplicate content, even if it is your own.
Instead, use an internal link to the original content. It will help with your SEO scores and increase the pages any given user might see of your site. The following training might be useful for you: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/internal-linking-strategies-for-rankings

Yes, you can plagiarise your own content. Up to 5% is acceptable, so a couple of sentences should be fine.
