Hey guys -

I’d love to know if anyone here has any success stories or experiences they’d like to share with their blog at around the 100 - 150 article mark.

I’ve been working consistently on my blog since October, and I think I’m just looking for a little inspiration.

Sometimes I want to take a week off from writing - but haven’t done that yet. I know the payoff is from perseverance and consistency - and improving our writing, and constantly learning.

Anyway, I guess any words of wisdom or experience from their blogs - would love to hear. Thanks.

Hi Paul, I thank you for your question. My initial answer would have been to say no to the 50 words blog posts. But after reading some of the answers I see there are success stories with short word posts.

I think your attitude of perseverance and consistency is very admirable, but I also feel everyone needs to take a break every once in a while.

Wishing you all the very best,

Michael

Hey thanks Michael -

It's actually not the length of the articles I'm wondering about - it's actually the amount of articles I've written. I'm somewhere between 100 - 150 at this point and just wondering what other people's experience have been when they were at this number too.

Thanks for the kind words - I've never been so consistent with any online endeavor. I have no intention of stopping, but yes, quite possibly a break is in order soon!

Hi Paul, sorry about that. I have been here since Sept 2018 after quitting in 2014. Up to date, I have 228 posts but 22 have not been indexed by Google.

I have 150 posts and it has taken me 6 months. I'm having some time off and my posts are still ranking and gaining traffic.

That's awesome to hear - and 6 months, you must be very consistent with your writing.

Yes, I write a post 6 out of 7 days and sometimes 7 or 8 a week.

Thanks, actually the link to this thread about success stories sparked some ideas too...I think I forget sometimes that just observing and learning from other people's successes is very important for us to keep moving forward and making tweaks ourselves.

Hey Paul, you can totally take breaks from this and not feel obligated to blog constantly. I started getting results with under 50 blog posts before and you don't have to go crazy with this. Chase the biggest keywords you can find and leverage the authority you have with your site to rank for the higher volume keywords. Work smarter, not harder at this stage and grow your traffic (and results).

That’s awesome you were getting results with under 50 - so you’re saying the site may have a slight bit of authority at this point and i could possibly start going after some bigger keywords and possibly rank for them? Meaning keywords over 100 with larger search volumes then? I am noticing certain articles of mine starting to be found with organic traffic lately, and also seeing that yahoo will highlight my article and pull useful info on the first page sometimes, making it stand out, which is really cool to see - yeah I’m totally wanting to work smarter and not harder - it’s crazy how much work I’ve put into the site at this point - def the most energy I’ve ever invested into an online endeavor

Yes to everything you asked Paul and it's awesome to see your site getting ranked more and more. I would honestly blog less at this point. You worked hard enough already and you deserve a break. With over 100 posts, your site is now building authority and marinating in the SERPS.

The only thing you may want to do now is just internally link the site a bit more so spiders can crawl it better, but other than that, yeah chase the bigger keywords and try to rank for them. Do product reviews for big name products. With your authority you should be able to see some good rankings for the keywords you are targeting or similar ones related to what you're aiming to rank for.

marinating in the SERPS - I like that!

Okay, awesome, thanks - I've actually learned a lot from you in the past years of me being here in WA - however, it wasn't til the last 6 months that I completely dived into this world and there's no turning back now.

I do try to internally link every single article I write, even if it's a review, I'll still internally link to another page somewhere...but less often when I'm doing a review.

Big name products...hmm...I will look into this - I haven't really thought of that before.

BTW - when you say bigger keywords, is there a QSR number you'd suggest to not go over? Or like a general range I should stick with? I've always always always stayed under 100 up until this point at least.

Thanks again for your tips!

Well under 100 is always good policy, but don't be scared to chase the higher QSR keywords, because if you make your title a bit more long tailed, you can rank for LSI (similar keywords) and get traffic from that.
