What is the average length of your blogs? Do you do 2000 words 4 or 5 times a month? Or, do you keep it short, under 600 words and blog 3-4 times a week?

Thanks for helping a newbie figure things out!

Google likes long posts of 1000+, but what I find is if the post is of good quality it will still rank, based on the number of hits. The frequency of posting is again a choice, depending on the topic. With my topic I try and post something twice a week.

I try to write enough words to cover the subject. On average, my posts are about 1,000 words.

I have written 10 articles using SiteContent. The average is 1,000 words with the shortest article 763 words.

I wrote several 4,000 word posts that in hindsight could have been broken down into shorter ones.

Glen, thanks for sharing!
I wonder how many other WA'ers take advantage of SiteContent.

I always aim for as long as possible but I stick to a simple rule now for myself. I write the post - it may be 500 words or it may be 3000 words.

I don't worry too much anymore about length, I just try and give all the information I feel needs to be given.

That said according to what I have read and seen online posts that are about 1500 words long are bound to rank better than shorter posts :)

You kind of go by what "feels" right, don't you? I like that.

I always try to ask people I work with to read my articles and let me have it. You have to really pry though to get any real feedback from them. They don't have the same stake in this as we do.
