Toast to Yoast Free?

I've noticed here in our happy community that there is a great focus on making the most of your SEO to get rankings. So, I thought I would share a tip from my own journey over the last 6 months in WA.

Looking for a solution

I have a wonderful mentor in Jack Cao, whom I joined when I was looking to create an online business in WA. He was fantastic in my early weeks struggling to understand the lessons and create a workable website in the music industry. Many emails went back and forward and within a few months I was delighted with the look and feel of my chosen niche. But writing content was still a huge challenge for me.

It wasn't that I couldn't write content but that I wasn't sure what would get the attention of

Google. I was diligently following the lessons and they are fantastic and explained in detail what SEO was and how to create it.

Still, I wanted a daily system that would alert me to SEO tips that I had left out and remind me of structure etc that would help me rank.

As a Baby Boomer it takes me a lot of repeats to remember anything new and I need to be prompted every time I write until it sinks in.

Jack came to the rescue again and loaded Yoast Free onto my website and as the saying goes, 'the rest is history'.

Features that work everytime

I really enjoy writing content in word press, now that I have my Yoast traffic lights to guide me. It has become a game trying to get the lights to turn from red, to Orange and then to Green. Two Green lights and you're ready to publish.

This rating is in two key areas, Readability and SEO. It has become second nature for me to

look at the lights on the right hand of the screen and register their color.

Then I scroll down the page to find a detailed account of what needs to be changed, to make it read better or register better in SEO.

There is even a prompt to write a great meta description that shows below your title on the Google listing.

It has taught me about slugs and keywords, Internal and external links, heaps!

It's not that all these top ten points aren't covered by our training here but having it in my face as I write content has helped it to sink in, it's also a fun game.

Writing this blog sent me off to see if I could put a screenshot on here to show you but I couldn't work it out. Next time!

In conclusion, I can't recommend Yoast more highly. Having something to prompt you to be better at SEO and Readability will help your productivity. Content is the key to your success.

All In One SEO that comes with your website is terrific but some of us need a little more daily instruction. It's easy to load from your new plugins section on your website and deactivate All in One, you can't use both at the same time. You can always swap it back later.

I would love to hear from anyone else who has had experience with Yoast. Please feel free to correct me if I have something wrong here. Happy for the feedback as it's still all new to me.

Warm Regards to my WA family

Lily

Thanks for sharing about Yoast Lily,

I saw Jay used it in a live training, I saw the features that it had, and was interested.

I wanted to try it, but wondered if it would make any changes to my website.

Glad to hear that it is helping you.

Blessings
Jackie

Hi Jackie, there wasn't any problems with me changing over and rarely have I heard of a problem. The only time I did hear of a problem for someone, technical support fixed it for them.

Regards
Lily 😊🎡

Thanks Lily

That is good to hear.

Nice, thanks I will definitely check it out.

I have used Yoast for a long time and really enjoy it. I dont think it conflicts with the All in one SEO.

That's great news.

If you like Yoast I recommend you go to Yoast Premium, with a small annual investment you will feel much better.

Hi Claudio,
I have considered that but at this point I can't see the advantage. It's only $89 US yearly but converted to Australian dollars it $120 and most extras offered are not necessary, just nice to have.
This is only a personal opinion.
I run my websites on a strict budget. Trying to fight that shiny object syndrome. 🀣

Thanks for sharing
Lily 😊🎡
