Have You Reviewed Your Affiliate Links?

This is so important that I thought I would send a shout out to all the newbies as a reminder. I'm not talking about your links not going to your affiliate company, I'm actually talking about who you are promoting products for.

Is this who you want to represent?

As I am pretty new myself and have been working through the lessons adding content and

affiliate links I've noticed something important. Internet affiliate programs can be changed by the companies overnight. Take for instance Amazon, when I joined as an affiliate 11 months ago the standard commission was around 3%, recently they slashed that in half to 1.5%.

I heard the anguished cries of long term members as their incomes were halved overnight and decided that I really didn't like what they had done. I made a business decision to source other companies selling my product range (mostly guitars).

This wasn't easy and it was time consuming but yesterday I finally had changed and polished all my content for these new banners. All of them pay between 5 - 16%, not a huge jump but much better. There are a huge amount of affiliate programs out there and some are easier than others to join, so my advice is to take the time to find programs that will give you the best return for your time and support.

My last commission (for a guitar) was the equivilant of selling 10 products on Amazon.

Stay with Amazon if you are truly happy but consider a wider world if you are finding it hard to register with Amazon. It will be easier and quicker to change all the banners on your posts now before you write masses of content.

Wishing you all terrific success. I would love to hear your views, so please share.

Very astute, Lily! Some people are so ingrained with Amazon that they can't imagine working with anyone else. You are right, doing it upfront makes it so much easier. But if your blog is already down the road and filled with Amazon links, spend about 15 minutes a day swapping them. out. Start with your most popular posts and work down from there until you're working with only good partners again!

Congrats on the guitar sale - what a wonderful example of how working with other merchants can pay off!

I was thrilled Jeannine. Thanks for your support.

Exactly Lily! I have stayed away from Amazon and and Google Rankings due to lack of control of MY INCOME! My work, my ads, my income!
I instead have accumulated my Evergreen Email List of Recurring Monthly Subscription Buyers To My Online Earning Team! I can offer them Daily YouTube Video Sales Messages regarding WA and Other high paying Commissions.
Remember, as fun as Online Earning is to create...it is still a job...NEVER EVER work below your paygrade!
Your knowledge is worthwhile and you should be compensated accordingly!

Great advice Barb. You are so clever.

Such good advice Lily and I'm sure many will take it. Amazon is appealing to many, mainly due to the huge amount of products available to promote.
I agree that looking for alternative affiliate programs is well worth the effort.

Great advice Lily, I have heard quite a few say the are sourcing alternatives to Amazon since the last change.

Staying with Amazon is the easy option and if you are so embedded there and have loads of products that sell big numbers then I can sort of understand it.
However if you only have a few, then now is the time to shop around.
Best wishes
Gaz

Thanks Gaz, I agree with you. It's time consuming changing the links in all my posts but so worth the extra commission.

You take care

Cheers Lily for the reminder.
