Can Keyword Content Really Build my Business?

I have to be honest happy WAers. I'm feeling a little low today and wondering if I'm heading in the right direction. They say a little knowledge is dangerous and I have been doing lots of study lately. That's the problem, I'm in information overload, so my question for you today is:

"Can keyword content really build my business?"

I'm in Phase 4 of bootcamp and I know that Kyle is telling me that he finds an endless stream of niche keywords for content ideas from Jaaxy but I still struggle and even when I've written a post I wonder if anyone will see it? I get a dribble of people coming to my MMO website but never any comments? Is it just too soon (my website is 9 months old)?

Anyway, I wonder what experiences others have had with finding keywords for their niche?

I would love to hear from you.

Hi Lily,

I know how you feel because I'm in much the same situation as you are.

A significant percentage of my keywords rank on the 1st page of the search engines. However, my traffic is not where I want it. Much less conversions.

But here is the problem. We tend to over think things. WA provides us with the winning formula. Faith that the process will work is the key.

I am at the point now where I can see each new post raise the quantity of clicks higher and higher. But when I slow down, the clicks also drop back to where they were. But this is the interesting thing. When I post a new article, the clicks resume at the higher level I had before and fo even higher.

This is telling me that I am at the inflexion point and this is the time I must write regularly and not stop. We shall see.

I started my website in March 2019. And I have 101 posts published on it, Far too little so I need to continue to write and post.

Cheers.

Edwin

It's great to hear your story and advice too Edwin, you give me great hope. Thank you.
Lily ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽถ

Thank you for sharing that Edwin. Appreciate the comment & motivation.

Trevor

I see that on my main niche site as well. With new content, I get more clicks, even to older articles. Thanks for adding in, Edwin.

Great!

Keywords on was supposed to bring out your content on your website to be seen. As part of the training goes, you shoot for the "low hanging fruit". Some people still don't get it. I was too. But the point for the "low hanging fruit" should be related to the trend of whatever the niche is. The whole point is to be seen on the higher up on the first page. Like within the top 10 on the first page. For example if "birds' wings" are all on the first page, what can your niche be about birds' wings that can out compete the others to be on the first page to be seen. That's how I understand it when using Jaaxy. If this helps, great!. If not, I tried my best. Best wishes!

Well done, you have it right. It just takes time.

I guess I'm the odd one out here in believing that keywords are still relevant to higher rankings and more search engine traffic. Though important they are not what Google uses to rank you for.

However you cannot expect every page and post you create to bring you great results. Less than 50% will be great. When you have some detailed content, those will do better.

Another thing that is extremely important when it comes to getting higher rankings on Google Page 1 and thus more traffic, is in-depth content of at least 2000 words.

A couple of years ago both Neil Patel and Statista did two separate studies, both showing content of at least 2000 words was most likely to rank highest. But this content needed to be relevant.

Keywords in your titles get you noticed. Your Meta description gets people to click on your content. But it is the in-depth content that is relevant to your keyword that will get you rankings and traffic.

For example, the link above is to a review I did on my Bootcamp website. You were the first person to comment on it through Site Comments and comments also impact rankings.

About 50% of my comments came from organic Google searches. I am even ranking on Page 1 for keywords found in my comments. When Google ranks your content it also looks at your comments.

In short, yes keywords will help your content, but Google ranks you for the in-depth content that is relevant to the keyword query. If your content has lots of information for the reader, Google ranks it.

On-point and well said, Rod.

Thank you.

Loves this explanation.

I love getting your feedback Rod. Lots of good points here and food for thought. Thanks.

You are welcome.

My pleasure Lily.

You are very welcome, Rob.

Lily, over 4.4M blog posts are published on the internet EVER DAY!
That said, between 90-95% of blog posts written will wither away into a cobweb filled room.
It is at that turning point, similar to where you are, that most people give up.

I do not share this to scare you away but to highlight the need for resilience and patience.
We are running a marathon and it will take time.

You are already ahead of the majority out there.
Take a break.
Do something different for inspiration.
Intensify YOUR focus and keep distractions away.

You are getting close to success.
Cassi

Thanks for your kind words Cassi. A momentary down that's all, it would take more than this to make me quit. I'll take a break today and start back fresh tomorrow.
Hugs

Wonderful!

Enjoy your break, Lily.

Hi Lily,
I have had pretty much the same experience as you. I'm in Bootcamp Phase 6, all about bing ads and leading up to ppc campaigns in Phase 7.
Unfortunately, I have no money for ads. So the learning stops until I do.

I concentrate on making my websites the best they can be for now.

Barbara

My plan exactly Barbara.
From comments in the community promoting well on Pinterest can be even better than ppc. I'll give it a go.
Lily ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽถ

I need to get my Pinterest going as well. But, again wanted to concentrate on getting my websites up to speed.

Can I give you a bit of advice and don't stop learning either? I skipped the PPC campaigns in the boot camp for now and I will only go through those, once my site gets more than enough visitors. I would head over to the seminars of Jay from Magistudios , he has sooo many good lessons about how to make your website pretty, using the new block editor, how to use all social media etc, in a much more detailed way then Kyle does (sorry Kyle). And stick out the seminars until the end where people ask their questions, you learn sooo much from them, really!
Much success!
Lizzy

Great advice Lizzy. Two steps forward and one back but it comes together in the end.
